SFUSD Strategic PlanGoal 1: Access & Equity: Make social justice a reality
Goal 2: Achievement:
Engage high achieving and joyful learners
Goal 3: Accountability:
Keep our promises to students and families
Challenges & questions we are asking ourselves
How do we do A LOT with so little time and funding?
How can we promote teacher collaboration with limited time?
Are we missing something obvious???
How do we compete with so many priorities?
How do we prioritize our limited coaching resources?
How do we move toward multiple measures and performance assessment – difficult but important!

Vision for StudentsEvery student in SFUSD will experience
engaging, rigorous, and relevant mathematics instruction in supportive classroom communities throughout their K-12 learning experience. As a result, students will graduate with strong mathematical literacy that will empower them to make a wide array of college and career choices. Students will understand that mathematics is deeply connected to their daily lives and their future success.
Mission = Our Commitments
to ActionImpact current pathways that students
experience throughout the district (PreK-12) and collaborate with all stakeholders to promote the actualization of truly equitable pathways for every student.
Go beyond access to courses by supporting innovative teaching and positive learning environments based on high expectations for all of our students.
Strategically develop a cadre of leaders at each school to cultivate equity centered Professional Learning Communities based on student work and social justice issues related to achievement in mathematics.
Mission = Our Commitments to Action (con’t)
Make the standards and content come alive by aligning and enhancing the state adopted curriculum with innovative teaching practices from here and abroad, cutting edge technology, and culturally and linguistically relevant instruction.
Strengthen and develop collaborations with specialists from a wide variety of departments and partners in an effort to deepen a shared understanding of or collective work.
Evaluate our work with teachers, administrators, and collaborative partners to measure the systemic response to our purposeful revision of student pathways, change in teacher values, beliefs, and practice, and authentic student work that demonstrates mathematical proficiency and critical, creative thinking.
