Equality is not about treating

everyone the same. It is about

creating an environment where

everyone is given an equal opportunity

to make a success of their lives,

regardless of their background.

The word diverse means “varied and different” so ‘diversity’ is about valuing variety and individual differences and creating a culture, environment and practices which respect and value differences for the benefit of society, organisations and individuals.

What do equality and diversity mean?
