Commissioner Takes A Hike With Others

Woman Nabbed for Having Marijuana in Purse During Accident Marijuana has been seized from an East Brady woman during an accident investigation. Pennsylvania State Police Troop-er Richard O. Quinn was investi-gating an accident on Route 268 near Country Paradise Park in Sugarcreek Township. The ac-cident happened around 9PM on Saturday evening. While attempting to identify the passenger in the traffi c collision, the police offi cer observed in plain view in the purse of 45-year-old Teresa Fiscus a marijuana pipe and small amount of marijuana. Police seized the illegal sub-stance and paraphernalia. The accident occurred one-half mile past the Beagle Club Road. A 1977 Oldsmobile Cutlass driven by Jay Stenzel, 37, of East Brady was traveling at a high rate of speed and attempted to pass another vehicle. Stenzel lost control and his vehicle began spinning counterclockwise as it traveled off the roadway and onto the berm. It struck a ditch,

The 2011 PA Hero Walk con-cluded last Saturday after trekking 320 miles in 14 days on behalf of the Wounded Warrior Project. For Al Pulice, the manager of Giant Eagle in Leechburg, tak-ing a walk across Pennsylvania is more than exercise. As director of the Kiski Valley Veterans and Pa-
triots Association, he has teamed up to promote an event called the PA Hero Walk on behalf of the Wounded Warriors group. “It all came about when we were looking for a guest speaker to speak at one of our Kiski Valley veterans events and someone had given me the name of Jeremy Feldbush.”
Feldbush, an Army Ranger from Blairsville, returned from Iraq with a serious brain injury and blind. After being released from Walter Reed hospital, Feldbush re-alized the challenges of returning to civilian life. He had to readjust to friends, family, community- and
