I am very pleased with what I have observed both in our classrooms and around our campus. There is a great deal of learning taking place already! Our teachers are working hard to get to know their student’s strengths and areas that present challenges. They will be communicating with you throughout the year with both celebrations and concerns. I encourage you as parents to be proac- tive in your student academic and social growth. With that being said, our D51 schools are in the beginning stages of introducing a learning management system (LMS) as we continue to grow in our D51 Learning Model. Schoology is our integrated learning management solution that pro- vides course management, mobile learning, and support for system-wide communica- tion. Schoology enables our students, parents and teachers to engage with learning materials and their school community from the classroom and beyond. We look forward to using Schoology in our classrooms to enhance transparency, connectivity and communication across our D51 com- munity. With a LMS, students can digitally submit homework assignments, review grades, demonstrate learning and growth, receive announcements and feedback, participate in interactive discussions, and more. As a parent/guardian, you will be able to view your child’s activity within the plat- form. I would like to thank you for your support and patience as our teachers are learning to navigate a new learning management system. Our school district has been providing ongoing training in order for teachers to become acquainted with the system and hopefully become proficient at re- porting grades by the end of this quarter. We intend to open the system up to parents on October 2 nd . Parents will be imported automatically to the new system if they currently have a Parent Vue account. In addition, we will offer training and support for parents on our October 22 nd , and 23 rd conference dates. We look forward to working with you in this new system. My door is always open to your questions, concerns and ideas. Please feel free to contact me if the need arises. Thank you and Go Knights! Cheri Vana, Principal

Be kind to each other, middle school is hard enough and

you don’t always know what others may be going through. Take care of our young Knights, remember you were there once. You are all changing, make your change for the good. Have someone you can talk too. Work on being the kind of person you would want to be friends with. Our door is always open. . .
