KAMLOOPS REGULAR SALE, TUESDAY, AUGUST 11th, 2020

We had excellent receipts in Kamloops today as we saw just under 220 hd go through the ring. Butcher cows & bulls made up the bulk of the sale, but today we saw the first of our yearlings come to town. The Douglas Lake Cattle Co. opened this powerful sale with 4 liner loads of butcher cows. The ring was filled with their incredible 1579 lb butcher cows that set the mark at 92.00. Their big pen of top, high yielding, Hereford cows, at 1582 lb, notched 92.25. Their 1437 lb Hereford cows saw sales to 93.50 and one complete liner load of high yielding, 1418 lb, Hereford cows had sales roll up to 94.25. The Ned’s Creek Ranch put the power to our yearling trade with their 977 lb, Red Angus / Hereford x strs race to 180.00. Phil & Shirley Johnston saw their 1000 lb Red Angus / Hereford x strs trade to 178.25 while their lighter, 913 lb, fancy Hereford strs brought 180.00. They also brought 880 lb hfrs that topped 170.00. Quality on our yearlings today was first class. Dave Stutt had powerful, good, 825 lb strs race to 190.25 and his 870 lb strs hit 185.00. Mitch De Strake set the bar on 1433 lb butcher cows at 94.50. Merv Smith rolled in with an excellent Black Angus bull, 2360 lb, that raced up to 114.50. Russ Abel set the tone for Butcher Bulls with 2330 lb bulls topping 115.25. Ron Eden had 1266 lb cows that notched 91.25, as well as 1355 lb cows that sold to 91.75. His younger, 1320 lb cows traded to 99.25. Huge thanks to all our bidders, buyers and contributors. It was one powerful sale to be part of. We would also like to thank the crew & staff in Williams Lake for putting together one incredible 4H sale on Monday, and to our bidders and buyers who made this sale such a success for the kids!
