Senior Services Advisory Committee Update
The Senior Services Advisory Committee (S-SAC) advises the Ashland Parks and Recreation Commission (APRC) on matters related to the Senior Services Division. Meeting agendas and minutes are posted outside the Division office at the Ashland Senior Center and are available online at ashland.or.us/agendas.asp?ccbid=197.
S-SAC welcomes public input! Please submit comments at a meeting or to any S-SAC member or staff, orally or in writing. Call 541-488-5342 to learn more.
At their December 10 meeting, S-SAC finalized a mission and goals for the Senior Services Division. Senior Center patron Jackie Bachman will be the S-SAC liaison to advocate for the needs of seniors in the planning process for Daniel Meyer Pool and Hunter Park. On December 17, S-SAC members gave a presentation to a joint session of APRC and the City Council. They urged these leaders to consider seniors in all City policies. A recording is available at: https://tinyurl.com/WhatAshlandSeniorsNeed (starts at 27:10 minutes).
Next meeting:
Monday, February 11, 3:30-5pm at Ashland Senior Center (January meeting cancelled)
