Chain BestPractice Seminars.
The Air Freight Stream, in association with The Loadstar, will tackle key trends
and issues in the industry and focus ona new FTA report into UK air freight shippers
needs.
The Knowledge LoungeSessions will give visitors an opportunity to meet the
experts behind the white papers hosted on the Knowledge Bank area of our website.
Trade Extensions will once again be offering visitors the opportunity of taking part in

Steve Agg, Chief Executive, FCILT
Steve, a well-known gure in logistics, supplychain and public transport circles, joined the
Institute in May 2006. He is based at theInstitutes Corby headquarters. His role meanshe meets frequently with politicians andbusiness leaders to ensure transport
infrastructure remains a key priority in keeping the UKseconomy moving. He has overseen the successful merger ofother Institutes and training organisations into the CILT family.Before taking on the role of Chief Executive he was mostrecently in the high-prole post of Managing Director BusinessServices for the Freight Transport Association. Prior to this hewas UK Distribution Director for Danone. Steve is a long-timemember of the Institute and is committed to raising the prole
and status of all individuals working in the logistics andtransport profession.
Damian Beswick, Lead DevelopmenteCommerce Products, Allport Cargo ServicesDamian has worked in China for 20 years, the last 14 withAllport Cargo Services, across many locations, primarilyShanghai and Hong Kong. A uent Mandarin speaker Damianhas used his detailed experience of the unique challenges that
China presents to Western brands, including latterlyeCommerce channels, to help them launch and build marketshare. Recently returned to the UK, Damian is responsible forACS growing eCommerce product portfolio, designed to
support a multi-channel strategy in China.
Martijn Blansjaar, Head of Logisticsand Supply, OxfamMartijn started in humanitarian assistance withMedecins Sans Frontieres (MSF)-Holland in1987. He spent seven years in programmes ofMSF and other agencies around the worldworking in logistics, technical and project co-ordination positions and as Head of Mission. In
1994 he joined MSF-Holland HQ Logistics Department for
special assignments, a/o on pharmaceutical distributions,became Coordinator Technical Support in 1997 and Director ofLogistics from March 2001. In November 2006, he joinedOxfam GBs International Division as Head of Logistics andSupply. Outside his regular jobs he has been active since 2003in various initiatives on the professionalisation anddevelopment of Humanitarian Logistics.

Clive Brady, Group VAT & DutyManager, WincantonClive has specic responsibility for all duty andexcise matters across Wincanton, ensuring the
company complies with the HMRCrequirement of right duty at the right timeand providing guidance on HMRC-relatedmatters. A committee member of The Bonded
Warehouse Keepers Association and an accountant byprofession, Clive has been with Wincanton since April 2003.
Captain Richard Brough OBE BAAFNI, ICHCACaptain Richard Brough started his career withthe British Merchant Navy in 1969, comingashore in 1989. After working in managerialpositions for various companies, he eventuallybecame Managing Director for Northern CargoServices Ltd. At this time he was appointed a
board member of British Ports Industry Training and pioneeredports vocational qualications and became a founder boardmember of Port Skills and Safety Ltd. In 2004 he set up his owncompany, Brough Marine Limited, offering professional advice tocompanies in the ports and logistics sector. In 2007 he formedUK Port Services Ltd (UKPS), which in 2008 became JenkinsPort Services Ltd. Richard later re-formed Brough Marine and in2011 was appointed Technical Advisor to ICHCA InternationalLtd. In 2013 became ICHCAs Technical and Admin Director. Hewas awarded an OBE in 2011 for services to Learning and Skills
in the Humber Region.
Stephen Carr, Head of CommercialStrategy, Peel Ports GroupStephen has been Head of Commercial Strategysince January 2013. He joined Peel Ports in 2009as Head of Business Development for theMersey Division where he led the team with anew approach to market, targeting importersand exports, whilst launching numerous
products and services that add value to and remove inefciencyfrom the supply chain. During this period, he was instrumental
in evolving the Liverpool2 strategy, developing the containerservice along Manchester Ship canal whilst developing andupgrading offers in other commodity areas too. Prior toworking at Peel Ports, Stephens career spanned both sales andsupply chain roles with both BP and TDG.
Dorothea Carvalho, ProfessionalDevelopment Project Director,Chartered Institute of Logisticsand Transport
Dorothea is responsible for the development ofnew projects within the Institute. Dorotheasprofessional background is in training and
developing people, with a signicant proportion ofher early career spent overseas. She is the Institutes liaison personfor universities, humanitarian logistics and professional standards.
Vincent Champion, ConsultingEditor, WorldCargo NewsVincent was a co-founder of WorldCargoNews/WCN Publishing in 1994 and Editorial
Director until 2010, since when he has beenConsulting Editor of WorldCargo Newswithout any change to his work content,specialising in cargo handling equipment, green
technologies, port and intermodal reports. From 1984 to 1994he was with Cargo Systems International and was thatmagazines editor from 1990.
Mark Crook, ProductDevelopment/Customs Manager,CORE (UK) Ltd
Mark has 15 years experience in the pre-shipment inspection industry working withinCustoms classication and valuation regimes,producing and presenting courses for Customsauthorities in developing countries. Recently he
joined CORE (UK) Ltd as Product Development/CustomsManager. CORE is a solutions provider developing tools toimprove accuracy, compliance and automate Customsclassication of imports/exports.
Stewart Ferguson,West MidlandsRepresentative and Head ofResearch and Consultancy,China-Britain Business Council
Stewart began learning Chinese at the age of 16and after graduating from Durham University inOriental Studies worked for both Hong Kongand Taiwan invested companies in the UK. Prior
to joining CBBC three years ago, Stewart lived and worked inGuangzhou for eight years where he was General Manager fora Taiwanese export orientated manufacturer. Stewart has an in-depth knowledge of both the opportunities and the issues UKcompanies may face when developing business in China.Located in Rugby, Stewart covers the West Midlands, Wales andSouth West England.
Gary Forster, Chief Executive,TransaidGary has been Chief Executive of theinternational development charity since April2011. Having joined Transaid in 2006, initially asa volunteer, Gary managed projects for theorganisation in Zambia until 2008 and then inNorthern Nigeria until 2010. Prior to working
for Transaid, Gary was a logistician for Procter and Gamblebased in its Bournemouth distribution centre where hesupported the European Chemicals Customer Service Team bymonitoring KPIs, establishing SLAs with 3PLs and investigatingnon-conformances.

Ralph Goldney, Managing Director,Railfreight ConsultingRalph set up Railfreight Consulting four yearsago to give independent, expert advice to
existing and potential future clients and users ofrail freight. The business is thriving with clients inboth the Heavy Haul and Intermodal sectors, andalso in the infrastructure management /terminal
ownership area. Prior to that he was the Deputy ManagingDirector of GB Railfreight, where he had responsibility for allcommercial and engineering matters. Ralph is a Fellow of boththe Institutions of Civil and Mechanical Engineers and also aFellow of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transportation.He has an MBA from Henley Management College.
Matthew Gore, Senior Associate,Holman Fenwick Willan LLPMatthew specialises in transactional corporateand commercial law. His practice spans a widerange of international corporate andcommercial transactions, including acquisitionsand disposals of businesses, assets and shares;joint ventures; corporate law issues; and
commercial contracts. Matthew has particular experience ofinternational projects including corporate and commercialtransactions in a number of different sectors especially portsand terminals and shipping. He is also a member of HFWsPorts & Terminals and Logistics & Liner Shipping Groups.Matthew has worked on a large number of corporate and
commercial matters including many commercial contracts forshippers, shipping lines and terminal operators. He hasparticular experience in drafting and negotiating sea freightframework agreements.
Chris Harrison, Director, GlobalCorporates, Trade and WorkingCapital, Barclays
Chris has worked in international trade fornearly 30 years rising to Trade Director in LloydsBank in 2009. During his time with Lloyds, Chrisworked across different business segments from
SME to Global Corporate and ran theInternational Business Centre Leeds after spells in Operations,Legal and the Trade Centre of Excellence in Birmingham. In 2011he joined Barclays to run the Global Corporate Trade & WorkingCapital Origination Team based in Canary Wharf.
Peter Huggins, The KnowledgeCentre Manager, CILT(UK)Peter is responsible for developing, maintainingand improving The Knowledge Centresinformation services in Corby to ensure aneffective provision for all members, staff and thepaying public. Having joined the Institute in
2000, he has seen The Knowledge Centre growfrom a purely traditional paper-based collection to the largestcollection of logistics and transport-related resources inEurope. He is a member of the Chartered Institute of Libraryand Information Professionals (CILIP).
Sharon James, Dockers SectionSecretary, ITFSharon has worked for the ITF since 2003, rstin the seafarers section and later as assistant
secretary of the dockers section. She has alsobeen the assistant secretary of the ITFs civilaviation section, giving her a broad knowledgeof the transport sector. Prior to that she was
an international policy ofcer for the UK Trades UnionCongress. Sharon James trained as a lawyer.
Nigel Jenney, Chief Executive, FPCNigel heads up the FPC executive teamproviding strategic leadership to effect growthand increased membership. He joined the FreshProduce Consortium as Chief Executive in2004. To assist in representing the UK freshproduce industry, Nigel also holds non-executive directorships on the following
boards: Freshfel (EU Trade Association for fresh produce) inBrussels; Gangmaster Licensing Authority (GLA); InternationalFederation for Produce Standards (IFPS); and the New CoventGarden Market Authority Board (CGMA). Nigel began hiscareer with the Department of Agriculture & Fisheries forScotland, working with the diversity of the Glasgow WholesaleMarket before moving to Aberdeen.

responsibility for FTAs Brussels operations. Chris is alsoSecretary General of the Global Shippers Forum which isadministered by FTA.
