Installer Qualifications: Installer experienced in the installation of standoff systems similar in complexity to those required for this project. 1.05 DELIVERY, STORAGE, AND HANDLING A. Deliver materials to the job site in good condition and properly protected against damage to finished surfaces. B. Storage on site: 1. Store material in a location and in a manner to avoid damage. 2. A.Coordinate installation of anchorage for standoff systems. Furnish setting drawings, templates, and directions for installing anchorages, including anchor bolts, and any concealed base lugs. Deliver such items to project site in time for installation.

2.02 METALS

A. General: Provide metal free from pitting, seam marks, roller marks, stains, discolorations, and other imperfections where exposed to view on finished units.

B. Fasteners: Stainless Steel or Zinc. 2.03 GLASS PRODUCTS

A. Tempered Glass: 1. Install glass in accordance with section 08 8000, using template and cut out information as supplied by the manufacturer.

2. Thickness: As specified by the architect in the plans. 3. Polish edges that will be exposed to a bright flat polish. 4. Manufacturing Process: Manufacture fully tempered glass as follows: a. By vertical (tong-held) or horizontal (roller-hearth) process, at manufacturers

option, except provide horizontal process tongless and free of tong marks. b. Subject to compliance with requirements, provide safety glass permanently marked with certification label of Safety Glazing Certification Council or another certification agency, acceptable to authorities having jurisdiction. 5. Always use manufacturer supplied vinyl washers, so there is no metal to glass contact.

2.04 FINISHES A. Comply with NAAMM’s “Metal Finishes Manual for Architectural and Metal Products” for

recommendations for applying and designating finishes. B. Architect to Specify 1. Brass 2. Chrome 3. Satin Chrome 4. Brushed Stainless Steel 5. Polished Stainless Steel 6. Gun Metal PART 3 – EXECUTION

3.01 EXAMINATION

A. Examine substrates, where reinforced to receive anchors, to verify that locations of concealed reinforcements have been clearly marked for Installer. Locate reinforcements and mark locations if not already done.

3.02 INSTALLATION, GENERAL

A. Install in accordance with manufacturer’s instructions. 3.03 CLEANING

A. Immediately after installation, clean glass and metal surfaces with a mixture of mild soap and water. DO NOT USE abrasive cleaners on glass and metal surfaces.

3.04 PROTECTION

A. Protect glass and metal finishes from damage during construction period with temporary

protective coverings approved by manufacturer. Remove protective coverings at the time of Substantial Completion.

B. Restore finishes damaged during installation and construction period so no evidence remains

of correction work. Return items that cannot be refinished in field to shop; make required alterations and refinish entire unit, or provide new units.
