Secrets of Winning SBIR/STTR ProposalsThursday, April 26, 2007

This half-day seminar is intended to provide participants with an introductionto and overview of the SBIR and STTR programs followed by instruction on howto search for solicitations and topics that may fit their technologies and coretechnical competencies. Participants will also receive instruction intended tohelp them prepare competitive grant proposals.
The seminar will also feature participation by the U.S. Army Communications &Electronics Research, Development and Engineering Center (CERDEC) at FortMonmouth. CERDEC initiates many of the Army's SBIR and STTR solicitationtopics and welcomes collaborations with entrepreneurs.

This seminar will cover the same core content as the April program. It will alsofeature a presentation by representatives of the U.S. Army Armament Research,Development and Engineering Center (ARDEC) at the Picatinny Arsenal. This program will focus on the important topic of cost proposals and governmentaccounting requirements for SBIR and similar projects. Applicants who are notwell versed in these areas risk losing money on their SBIR grant or contract, beingpenalized for charging the government too much, or being unable to justifycertain expenses. Attendees will learn about indirect costs, audits and recordkeeping requirements. They will also see how to prepare a simple but defensibleindirect cost rate.
The Phase I Proposal Development and Cost Proposal Preparation programs willbe delivered by the Greenwood Consulting Group, Inc. Gail and Jim Greenwoodhave been active in SBIR since the program's inception, making firms aware ofSBIR and its opportunities, and teaching them how to write competitive technicaland cost proposals for SBIR funding. They have critiqued hundreds of SBIR andSTTR proposals for firms throughout the United States. The Greenwoods havepresented SBIR/STTR workshops to thousands of persons in 47 states.
Attendees of the Phase I Proposal Development program with the Greenwoodswill be eligible to receive a complimentary proposal critique by the Greenwoodswithin one year of the program.
