There’s so much incredible music to hear this season, and we can’t wait to share it with you. I look forward to seeing you at a concert soon!
2015 / 16 CONCERT SEASONWelcome to our new season, headlined by violinist Giora Schmidt! In celebration of the 150th anniversary of Sibelius’
birth, we are delighted that Giora will play the Finnish composer’s Violin Concerto in two all-Sibelius concerts. We are also delighted to introduce you to the exciting Bulgarian conductor Martin Panteleev, the young German pianist Leonie Rettig (performing Ravel), and the star pianist Andre Laplante (performing Tchaikovsky) – and we’ll reacquaint you with French horn player Louis-Philippe Marsolais (performing Mozart) and violinist Yi-Jia Susanne Hou (performing Paganini). Other highlights include the incomparable Andrea Ludwig singing old and new settings of Schubert songs; the Mozart Requiem; and an English festival of Elgar, Britten, and Holst. Baroque boasts not only Messiah with Alex Weimann and the Christmas Oratorio, but concerts led by Robert Uchida and Jeanne Lamon. The Music of Queen, Buck 65, Rich Aucoin, and Meaghan Smith are just a few who will thrill in the Pops concerts – and of course the one and only Howard Cable. I know you will find lots to love, and we look forward to seeing you (again) at some of our wonderful concerts this year.
