A half to one page A4 of the project summary should be included. 1. Title of the school’s activity/programme on Education for Disaster Risk Reduction More O2 Less Co2 2. Summary of the activity/programme (a half to one page A4) The project will be held from 2011 – 2013. The project activities are separated into two parts :
- Academic conference by the advisors from Ammartpanichnukul school and the Biological way of life for Sustainable Development department of Electricity Generating Authority of Krabi - Mangrove Planting at Mangrove Study and Development Area of Ammartpanichnukul School and Laem Tong Area . 3. Background information or reasons why the school initiated this activity/programme Krabi is one of the most famous tourist attractions in Thailand that possesses many beautiful beaches. Due to a vast number of tourists each year , it receives a great deal of incomes from tourism as much as agriculture ( palms and rubber plantations ) and fishery Ao-nang Subdistrict consists of crystal clear beaches that attract tourists around the world . Although there is no factories located in the area , there are numerous hotels , guesthouses , travel agencies ,restaurants , resorts and a lot of food stalls along the 3 kilometres of the white sand beach . With the rapid and continuous development , the environment has been contaminated by the non – treatment drainage , smoke , oil , and etc .It is , therefore, impacts on producing fishery , sea levels ,winds , tides, air and water quality in the area . For the past 10 years , people in Krabi have been facing many kinds of disaster ; tsunami , floods , landslides ,droughts . These disasters occurred because we didn’t have suitable environmental management and we have overexploited our precious resources . Ying Sua Canal ( a local canal at Aonang ) , for instance, has been polluted by the drainage without treatment . It is nasty and harmful to the local people and the tourists .

Ammartpanichnukul School as an outstanding educational institute of Krabi, in collaboration with Ao-nang Subdistrict Organization have released a project “More O2 Less CO2 ” to deal with the climate change issue . 4. Objectives/goals of the activity/programme
1. To increase oxygen by mangrove planting 2. To reduce carbon dioxide by using EM. ( Effective Microorganisms) to get rid of polluted water 3. To enhance awareness and profound understanding in environmental conservation among teenagers and local people . Have them love and proud with their hometown and their inherit resources 4. To reduce disaster risk
5. Period of time when this activity/programme was/has been implemented The project has been implemented from 2011 – 2013. The project activities are separated into two parts :

Plan for sustainability and plan for the future Plan for sustainability: As we continually gets kind and ongoing support from our local organizations , we dedicate time and energy to succeed the project ,especially in education . Preparedness is crucial to reduce the impact of events and hazards that have the potential of resulting in disaster so we gradually integrate environmental issues to every subjects .We emphasis on disaster risk education as it has great effect on our lives . We have tried hard to increase O2 and expand our mangroves planting area . If we have a walk –way , we will use it as a study area for our disaster risk education . 12.
