down on deck our service team treats the guests to a first-

Sea Cloud The legend beneath white sails

A self-assured grande dame, a stylish yet informal sailing

icon and a generous host – the Sea Cloud is a living

legend. In 1931 the American millionaire couple Marjorie

Merriweather Post and Edward Hutton commissioned the

four-masted barque and set about transforming the luxury

private yacht into a stage for their eccentric lifestyle.

Aristocrats and Hollywood stars, politicians and diplomats

often graced the decks of this windjammer.

Even today, having been faithfully restored, every detail on

board this yacht recalls the glory of a bygone age. With

golden, swan-shaped taps, splendid marble fireplaces

and French antiques, the Sea Cloud exudes a timeless

elegance and casual luxury. Rigid etiquette is nowhere

to be found, not even in the oak-tabled restaurant. Sat at

long tables, guests can enjoy the delicacies conjured up

by the kitchen staff in a relaxed setting before retiring to a

deck chair, to the lido bar or the cosy Blue Lagoon area for

a moment of relaxation.

The Sea Cloud welcomes each of her 64 guests on

board like a long-standing friend – whether you are

staying in one of its lovingly restored original cabins, a

cosy outside cabin or one of the former officers’ cabins.

best. The three-masted barque, built in 2001, offers all

the amenities of a modern cruise ship whilst remaining a

quintessential windjammer.

This tall ship bears all the hallmarks of its older sister,

the legendary Sea Cloud, and yet still has a charm all

of its own. With its four expansive decks as well as the

generous range of facilities on offer in its guest cabins,

the Sea Cloud ii proposes exclusive comforts that

are sure to impress even seasoned cruise goers. A

cappuccino in the elegant lounge; a spot of sunbathing

on the lido deck or a quiet moment with a book in the

library – on the Sea Cloud ii, you are spoilt for choice

when looking for your favourite spot. In the gym, you will

find dumbbells, bikes, treadmills and step machines for

your preferred workout, after which the adjoining sauna

area offers a further boost to your general well-being.

Beyond that, we provide a range of spa services –

massages and beauty treatments – at additional cost
