And while Scrooge is sleeping in his bed, the Ghost of Christmas Past appears. He takes Ebenezer Scrooge back to the happy days when he was a friendly young man. He sees himself celebrating Christmas with other people. He looks so happy. He also sees all the terrible things he did when he was older. Next the Ghost of Christmas Present appears. Now the room is decorated with holly, ivy and mistletoe and looks so nice. There is a table full of sausages, Christmas puddings, apples and pears, oranges and cakes. Suddenly the ghost of his dead partner, Jacob Marley appears. He says to Scrooge, “Change your life! You must become a better man. You must be kind to people, you must laugh with them. The third ghost is the Ghost of Christmas Future.He goes

with Scrooge to a graveyard and shows him a neglected

grave. There is Scrooge´s name on the tombstone. “Oh

Ghost,” Scrooge shouts, “I will change my life. I will be

friendly and generous.” Then the ghost disappears.

When Scrooge awakes the next morning he remembers

the three ghosts and he also remembers what he saw. It

is Christmas morning. He thinks “What a wonderful

morning!” then he jumps out of bed and he smiles! He

dresses quickly, goes out into the street, is very friendly,

gives money to beggars and wishes everyone “A Merry

Christmas!”

He buys delicious food and many presents and carries

them to Bob Cratchit´s house. He gives them the food

and the presents and feels very happy. He has never

been happier in his life. Then he goes to his nephew Fred

to celebrate Christmas with him. The ghosts have

changed all in only one night. Ebenezer Scrooge has

learned his lesson for the rest of his life and he loves his

new life.

The Ghost of Christmas Present takes

Scrooge to a poor but clean room. It is

the home of his clerk, Bob Cratchit, and

his family. Bob, his wife and his two

children sit at the table. There isn´t

much food on it, but they all say it is the

most wonderful Christmas dinner.

Although they are poor, they are happy and love each

other so much. They see Scrooge and invite him to sit

down and have Christmas dinner with them. Scrooge is

very ashamed.

And there is also Tiny Tim. Bob's little boy is handicapped

and they have no money for a doctor. “Look!” the ghost

tells Scrooge, “The boy will die if they don´t get money

for a doctor.” “Please, take me away!” Scrooge says to the

ghost.
