International Day 2019 This year’s International Day was one of the best ever according to

seasoned observers. With pupils celebrating their cultures from over

40 different countries, the audience was treated to performances

from around the world, with many pupils in national dress.

After the show, the school enjoyed a wonderful buffet with food

cooked by the pupils themselves and staff giving everyone present a

real ‘taste of home.

At the end of the day there was a celebratory party in the PK building

to complete proceedings.

Co-Curricular

Activities As part of the college’s drive to continue to make

the boarding experience a memorable one, the

activity programme now offers something for

everyone.

With several sporting options, academic extension

clubs or something to simply enjoy and have a bit

of fun, there is a great deal on offer each Monday

and Friday afternoon.

Focus on Boarding It is really important for the college that we continue to improve and concentrate on one of our key areas, namely boarding. With dedicated staff in all age and gender appropriate accommodation and a continuation of the upgrading of furniture and decoration, there has a been a drive to create an atmosphere that leads to a truly happy and memorable boarding experience for our boys and girls. To that end, all resident tutors have continued to attend regular CPD through the BSA’s excellent Educare programme. Leading the way has been Mr Leo, our Head of Boarding and Pastoral care. We were delighted to receive news this term from Roehampton University that he has successfully passed his Certificate of professional practice and the certificate of professional development. In addition to the training of staff, more ‘boarding is fun’ events have taken place along with the usual celebration of birthdays and special events within each house. These events, when added to the schedule of School-Council organised activities, are making for a very happy boarding environment. It
