Cubewano Rotary Engine Research
Collaboration
• Cubewano designs and manufactures
rotary internal combustion engines.
• Project aim was to optimise the
combustion systems to increase
efficiency and enhance the engine’s
ability to run on heavy fuel oil.
• This was achieved by building an
engine with a complete side made
from glass and installing optical
diagnostic equipment from Warwick.
• The work enabled the company to
become the first rotary engine
manufacturer to design engines
capable of running on kerosene based,
heavy fuel oil.
New World Solar Installations Research and
Development Collaboration
• To evaluate the actual
performance of a range of solar
photovoltaic panels
• Utilising Science City solar energy
evaluation and testing facilities in
the School of Engineering at
Warwick
• The project will enable the
company to introduce a new type
of solar power panel into the UK
market with the potential for
manufacturing under licence in the
West Midlands

Kingfisher Industrial Ltd
Kingfisher specialises in solving the problems industries
encounter when processing bulk solid materials
• Company introduced to us by MAS
• Install erosion resist linings and monitoring systems
• Faced with potential £100k’s claim for replacement of components due to corrosion problem
• Some simple analysis of corrosion (XRD & ICP) enable them to reduce liability costs to a minimum (demonstrated their limited culpability), and protected future orders
