The Importance of Play: A Panel Discussion
All children play intuitively. What is the reason for this? Why is play so important? How might you, as a parent,
best facilitate play to meet the needs of your child? 6th graders are uniquely positioned to answer these questions, as they
are still playful, yet capable on higher level analytical thinking. The 6th grade students at The Philadelphia School have been studying the importance of play. Through self-reflection, close observation of your pre-school children, and the study of play research, they have developed insightful ideas around the role of play in their lives. This is an opportunity to tap into the experience and knowledge of the real experts: children.
