Byron E. Talbot Contractor, Inc. (Talbot), was founded in 1975 and incorporated in 1976. Our primary office is located at 301 Main Project Road in Schriever, LA, with an additional office in Robert, LA.

With a proven industry record of delivering on time, within budget, and meeting clients’ expectations, we have built a reputation of excellence. The keys to our continued success are not only the products and services we provide, but the expertise of our team. Our knowledge and professionalism set us apart and have made us a regional leader in the construction industry.

Our customer list is extensive and includes oil field service companies, commercial real estate developers, financial institutions, medical service facilities, educational institutions, supermarkets, and many municipality, parish, and state entities.

Primarily involved in civil and industrial construction, our services include grubbing and excavation, fill placement, sub-base preparation, drainage, water, and sewerage systems, concrete paving, asphalt surfacing, and highway and street construction. We are also a vendor of civil construction materials such as sand, topsoil, and limestone.

We hold License #12198 with the Louisiana State Licensing Board for Contractors, and are also licensed in Mississippi, Alabama, Arkansas, and Texas.

Our labor force consists of approximately 100 employees, and includes skilled laborers, concrete finishers, pipe layers, and heavy equipment operators. We have developed and continue to maintain strong working relationships with numerous engineering and architectural firms throughout south Louisiana.

The employer's paramount obligation is to provide a safe and healthful work environment. This can be achieved through training and providing information to all employees regarding proper work practices and safe operating practices. Achievement of this goal is to be checked through regular inspections of facilities and equipment where unsafe conditions might be found.

Employee's responsibility to follow all safety rules and work safely at all times:

All employees have a responsibility to themselves and to the company for their safety and the safety of their coworkers. All employees are required to:

- Comply with all federal, state, and local rules and regulations relevant to their work.

- Observe all company rules and regulations related to the efficient and safe performance of their work.

Disciplinary Policy

All safety rules, procedures, and plans in effect at this company are intended to be followed. Upon violation of any company safety rule, the violating employee will be disciplined. The list of possible disciplinary actions includes:

A Supervisor may choose to use a more stringent form of reprimand depending on the severity and the number of times an employee committed the same violation. The severity of the penalty will be in direct correlation to the severity of the safety violation.

DEDICATED ON-STAFF SAFETY PROFESSIONALS

Byron E. Talbot Contractor, Inc. employs a Safety/Risk Manager that promotes our safety culture on a daily basis. His duties include: policy enforcement, documentation efforts, inspecting projects, reporting issues, supervising other safety professionals, and examining reports from Supervisors.

We also have a staff of full-time dedicated safety professionals that visit projects, and on our larger projects, they stay on location from inception to completion.

TRAINING

All employees must complete mandatory training that is outlined in company training matrix. This matrix is designed to ensure all employees are meeting their annual required training from OSHA, MSHA, ANSI and DOT.

Byron E. Talbot Contractor, Inc. has a full-time employee that is certified to do all necessary training onsite. A dedicated classroom is designed to facilitate a training environment that is conducive to learning. Our certified training instructor continues his required CEU’s to keep his training certifications valid and training information up-to-date.

As the selected site contractor, we installed heavy steel-reinforced concrete foundations for a new fuel dock for sup-ply boats. Our work included foundations for a fuel tank, water storage, elevated pump and electrical platforms, pipe support foundations, and the installation of concrete troughs for the fuel piping. Additional site work also included a 2-Foot stone base, site lighting, parking, and drainage im-provements.

Working closely with both the design team and owner as the construction manager, we were able to obtain and submit competitive subcontractor bids, schedule all work, and offer value engineering options to de-liver the project on time and within budget. This project was designed to increase the client’s production capacity on a 22-acre site with:
