SCHOOLVISITS
Lincoln Castle is a truly inspiring venue for a school visit. The new national curriculum-linked Investigate programme for schools offers you and your pupils the chance to have fun, discover, learn and be inspired to learn more through a wealth of unique hands-on adventures and experiences.
A UNIQUE EXPERIENCE
FACILITATED WORKSHOPSIn this brochure and on the website www.lincolncastle.com you will find a broad range of pre-bookable facilitated workshops led by our experienced learning team. Workshops are designed to offer an immersive, action-packed school visit. Talk to us about your ideal school trip and we will do everything we can to make this possible.
Morning workshops from 10am or afternoon workshops from 12.30pm will last around 1.5 hours to 2.5 hours. All day workshops are 10am - 2.30pm. Times are flexible to suit your needs and if you need to stop for a break just let us know. All day £8.00 per pupil. Morning or afternoon £4.00 per pupil.
SELF-LED VISITSA self-led visit may include the Medieval Wall Walk £2.50 per pupil, Magna Carta and the Victorian Prison. £5.00 per pupil or an all-inclusive ticket £6.00 per pupil.
MULTI-SITE VISITSExperience two heritage sites on the same day. There are limited pre-bookable combined workshops available with The Collection Museum or Lincoln Cathedral. £8.00 per pupil.
GUIDED TOURSMany of the facilitated workshops include tours relevant to their subject area. However, you can book a general guided tour in the bailey as part of your visit. £2.00 per pupil.
ACCESS Please let us know of any access requirements when you book your visit. We would strongly recommend a pre-visit to the site if you have particular access requirements. RISK ASSESSMENTSYou can download our hazard identification sheet to help you to fully complete your risk assessments on the website.
LOAN BOX SERVICEComplement your studies of Lincoln Castle in the classroom with a box of real and replica objects, plus information on how to get the most from the box. See the website for further details.
SHOPOur castle shop stocks a wide range of pocket-money priced items for children. However if you feel you will be too short of time for pupils to visit the shop on the day, you can book items from our goody-bag service in advance. MAKING THE MOSTOF YOUR VISITThe brand new learning centre has four bright and spacious flexible rooms, an Early Years room and a dedicated schools area of the Victorian Prison.
