DATA REVIEWED & ANALYZED:

Based on your schools NSPF results, identify what additional data have been reviewed and analyzed in development of the SPP.

Nevada School Performance Framework (NSPF) NA NANA NA NANA NA NANA NA NANA NA NAOther: ACT Plus Writing Exam Results Other: Other:Other: AP Exam Results Other: Other:

Summary Statement: Please provide a brief description for how the analyzed data will impact your Inquiry and Action Planning process. With the elimination of the Nevada High School Proficiency Exams, (NHSPE), students are now required pass the End of Course (EOC) exams. Although students began taking the EOC exams for ELA I and II and Math I and II two years ago, there is still no reported student achievement data to analyze. Through our data analysis of the ACT Plus Writing exam, we noted that the general school population have made consistent gains. Specifically, student scores have increased 6% in Writing, 8% in Math, 8% in Science and 2% in Reading. Advanced Placement (AP) students were mandated to take the AP exams in May 2016, which was a change in previous school-wide policy. Overall participation increased to 1,083 students. While there was a decrease in the overall passage rate on the AP exam, 155 more students passed their AP exams than the previous school year. Finally, 53% of our students graduate with an advanced diploma. Two specific areas of concern that were identified is the fact that, though participation on AP exams have increased from 301 exams in 2010 to 1,090 in 2016, an increase of 789%, we had an 18.2% drop of students passing with a score of 3 or better. Also, all AP exams in the area of science saw declines in the overall passage rate, with passing rates of 32% or less.

☑ Hispanic 100%

☑ Two or More Races 100%

HOPE 2 Intervention

Focus of Intervention:We will work collaboratively with parents, the school counselors and administrative offices to identify inappropriate behaviors. Students will develop a 10-year plan to determine long- and short-term goals.

Monitoring Plan:The Success Center will track documentation by monitoring the Counseling Database as well as in the personal planning program: Naviance. Administration, Counselors and Social Workers will track D/F students.

Evaluation Plan:Infinite Campus’ database comparison over the past three years of referrals for soft suspensions as well as credit deficient data to the number of current referrals.

Based on the CNA, identify all that apply:☑ General Education ☑ FRL ☑ ELL ☑ IEP ☐ Other

Priority Need/Goal 1:Increase the percentage of students graduating with an advanced diploma each year.

Root Causes:Due to the high demands of the major course of study, students either opt not to take advanced courses or they receive failing grades.

Measurable Objective 1:Increase the percent of students graduating with an advanced diploma from 53% to 57% by 2017 as measured by NSPF.

Priority Need/Goal 2:The percentage of students scoring a 3 or above on the Advanced Placement Exam will increase annually.

Root Causes:Though we have made strides developing vertical alignment and sufficient student and parent communication during pre-registration for Advanced Placement (AP) courses, students continue to focus on the quantity of exams taken versus the quality of preparation. Students in AP classes are mandated to take the AP exam. Therefore, students participation on the AP courses has increased, but the overall percentage of passing scores have decreased.

Measurable Objective 1:Increase the percent of students scoring a 3 or above on the AP Exam from 52.9% to 57% by 2017 as measured by College Board Reports.
