Wokingham Active Kids is an Ofsted registered programme which runs a range of activities through the school half terms and holidays.

All of our coaches, who have DBS checks and a passion for sport, are on hand to make sure your children have a fantastic day.

The sport specific courses and the specialist sports on the multi-activity days all have head coaches that are qualified within their sport to deliver fun, safe and exciting games for all ages.

BookingsBookings are allocated on a first come first served basis and we must receive a completed booking form before taking any payment. We recommend that you book as early as possible to avoid disappointment. Please note that some activities will be subject to change. You will be notified at the earliest opportunity.

Payment Full payment must be made before attending the course. We have many payment options available to you. Please check page 6 for more details. Please look at our cancellation policy at: www.wokingham.gov.uk/sports/holidaysports as no refunds will be issued if you are unable to attend apart from exceptional circumstances. Any refunds will be issued after the holidays.

RegistrationTo ensure the safety of your child we ask that you sign in your child when dropping them off. A member of the Wokingham Active Kids team will be there to ensure that this happens. This will also be the same routine at the end of the day when you collect your child.

LunchThe children will have a supervised lunch hour every day. Please send a packed lunch with your child. They will not be able to use the vending machines at any venue. We also request that you do not provide your child with any foods containing nuts as we may have children with allergies.

Clothing Due to the nature of the programme we would ask that all children are dressed appropriately for activities both indoors and outdoors. A full swimming kit of costume/trunks, towel and goggles (if required) is also needed for places booked at Loddon Valley Leisure Centre.

Booking & Payment Process

To book your child/children on to any of the Wokingham Active Kids activities, you will need to complete a booking form. These can be found at:www.wokingham.gov.uk/sports/holidaysports.

Alternatively, please call (0118) 974 3728 and we will send you one in the post.

There are a number of ways you can pay for bookings. You can pay with a credit or debit card over the phone, by posting a cheque or by childcare vouchers.

Please call us on (0118) 974 3728 to see if we are registered with your childcare voucher company.

Please ensure that you check your booking has been accepted by us before transferring your childcare voucher payments.

If you are paying by credit or debit card we will contact you to take payment. Please do not call us as we have to process your booking before taking payment.

Once complete, we will send you a receipt via email as proof of payment.

To complete the booking, we will send you an email confirming your booking.

The confirmation will give you detailed information about the day, what your child/children should expect and what they should and should not bring. If you have any further queries, please do not hesitate to contact us using the options on the next page.

Multi Activity camp days include four different sports. The children will be spilt into two age groups; 5-7 year olds and 8-12 year olds. The activities on offer will differ from week to week and other sports include basketball by Reading Rockets, swimming (Loddon Valley only) and football by Reading FC. A typical week could look like this (Please note this is only an example).

Reading Football Three days at Cantley Park and a day at the Madejski Stadium.

The day at Reading FC’s Madejski Stadium, will include a tour round the

stadium. The children will be able to put into practice the skills that they have learnt throughout the week playing in the dome and also experience a visit from Kingsley, Reading FC’s mascot.

This is a must attend course for any football fan!

Our cricket camp is run by TVC cricket academy, where the children will learn the basic techniques and enjoy a series of ball games and fun drills all relevant to the game.

They will also experience the TVC coaching by having optimum bat and ball exposure and they will thrive in an enjoyable and fun environment .

The experience will also include a small tournament at the end of the camp. The camp is suitable for all ages and abilities.

Athletics camp is a week experience with fun skills and games from a former Great Britain athlete who will not just train young athletes but will talk about his experiences as an elite athlete.

This is for all abilities and ages. All equipment is provided. The activities will take part on a sports field.

Long Term Health

Health and Wellbeing Zone

Specialist gym for people with long term health conditions, located within Loddon Valley Leisure Centre.

Suitable for people who have the following conditions; stroke, Parkinson’s, post-cancer rehab, Multiple Sclerosis, Diabetes, Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, cardiovascular disease, some physical disabilities.

Sessions cost just £2.60 per visit and will include 30 to 60 minutes of individually tailored, safe exercise with a qualified GP Referral Instructor present at all times. You will need to be referred by your GP or other health professional.
