PRODUCT DESCRIPTIONThe 1SP0335 SCALE-2 Plug-and-Play driversare specifically designed for the reliable andsafe driving of 130x140mm and 190x140mmIGBT modules with 10.2kV isolation voltageand blocking voltages from 3.3kV to 6.5kV.They are optimally suited to high-reliabilityapplications in railway technology and indus-try. The driver concept relies on a master-slaveprinciple that allows the safe operation ofparallel connected IGBT modules. The master(1SP0335V or 1SP0335S) can be used as astand-alone driver without a slave to drive asingle IGBT module or with up to three1SP0335D slaves, to drive up to four parallelconnected IGBT modules. The master is equipped with a fibre-optic interface and global fault management. Inmaster-slave configurations, the slaves areconnected to the master by a bus cablewhich distributes the common command sig-nal and the secondary-side supply voltagesfor the DC/DC converter.
The 1SP0335 drivers are based on CONCEPT's highly integrated SCALE-2 chipset. Thanks to SCALE-2 technology, thenew 1SP0335 family comprises highly inte-grated, high-performance, complete and ex-tremely compact single-channel IGBT drivers.
The SCALE-2 chipset reduces the componentcount by 85% compared to conventional solutions, thus significantly increasing relia-bility and reducing costs. The drivers are equipped with Dynamic Advanced Active Clamping (DA2C), short-circuit protection, regulated turn-on gate driving voltage and supply-voltage monitoring.Perfectly matched driver versions are avail -able for all mechanically compatible IGBT modules. The plug-and-play capability of thedriver allows immediate operation aftermounting. The user needs to invest no effortin designing or adjusting it to a specific application.

MASTER-SLAVE SYSTEM1SP0335 SERIESThe master (1SP0335V or 1SP0335S) can be used as perfect standalone driver without a slave to drive IGBT modules withoutparallel connection or with up to three 1SP0335D slaves, to driveup to four parallel-connected IGBT modules. Paralleling is achievedby simply connecting the master and slaves via the provided paralleling interfaces X2 and X3, which are identical.
In contrast to the other SCALE-2 plug-and-play drivers, the driversof the 1SP0335 family are modular in the sense that the drivercard and power supply (DC/DC converter) are two separate units.Thanks to this modular concept, any driver unit that was developedto match a specific IGBT module can be used for any required insulation specifications. Only the separate power supply unitISO5125I must be chosen to a specific application.

Electrical insulation and powersupply with ISO5125IThe ISO5125I is a single-channel insulated DC/DCconverter suitable as a power supply for IGBTdrivers up to 6.5kV. It complements the 1SP0335high-voltage IGBT drivers. Its output power of5W enables switching frequencies up to 5kHz for6.5kV/750A IGBTs. On the basis of this concept, the drivers for IGBTsin the voltage range from 3.3kV to 6.5kV can beimplemented in 2-level, 3-level and multi-levelinverter topologies. The driver unit is mounted directly onto the IGBTmodule by means of three screws. The powersupply unit ISO5125I is designed as a separatemodule attached close to the IGBT. For parallelconnected drivers, only one power supply is needed per switch.
