Our Honourable Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi said,

“If na�on saves water, lives of ordinary human beings will be saved too….”

According to Ni� Aayog report, our country India, is currently suffering from the worst water crisis in its

history. By 2020, it said, as many as 21 major ci�es of India, will run out of water.

Honourable Prime Minister urged the people from all the Organisa�ons including NGOs to lead by lead

innova�ve campaigns for water conserva�on and their contribu�on to this movement in their own way.

According to a Ni� Aayog report on water management index last year, India is currently suffering from the worst

water crisis in its history with the country ranked at 120 among 122 countries in the quality of water. By 2020, it

said, as many as 21 major ci�es of India will run out of water including Delhi, Bengaluru, Chennai and Hyderabad

affec�ng around 100 million people. Therefore, it is important that we take steps for both water conserva�on and

water preserva�on.

Also, the Central Board of Secondary Educa�on has instructed schools to adopt a policy of water management and

makes it mandatory for schools to become water efficient in next 3 years from October 16, 2019

‘Save Water - Save Life’ is a Na�onal level biggest Environmental Awareness Campaign �ll date. CARITAS INDIA is

catalysing this mega campaign, which will be executed through a combina�on of Drawing and Essay

(Hindi/English) wri�ng compe��ons. A panel of high level of exper�se and judges would be giving the final

decision.

Objec�ves:

Ÿ Raising Awareness About Water Conserva�on ‘Save Water - Save Life’…

Ÿ To bring awareness in the Schools, of this dras�c change in the Ecosystem.

Ÿ To promote educa�on in the interest of Na�onal Development.

Ÿ Raising public awareness for water issues is to engage the public in topics such as: water conserva�on; hygienic

water use; or preserva�on of ecosystems. Not merely raising awareness and telling people what they are

supposed to do, but explaining issues and providing knowledge so that people can make their own, informed

decisions.

Ÿ Making our upcoming genera�on more responsible ‘Empowering Students’...

Scope:

Ÿ This programme would be executed PAN India.

Ÿ Student par�cipa�on eligibility from Class I to XII.

Ÿ Students and Teachers awareness for water conserva�on.

Ÿ To enlighten the conscience of the human with the message ‘Save Water - Save Life’

In each school, all registered students will have the preliminary compe��on for Essay wri�ng using pen and paper and Drawing

using drawing sheet and prescribed colors for Grades in a fixed dura�on and on a par�cular day as per School’s convenience.

At the end of the �me allo�ed, the papers and sheets will be submi�ed to the proctor/school coordinator.

School will evaluate all the sheets and finalise the best Essay/Drawing. Submit Essay and Drawing, Wri�en and Drawn on Save

Water theme for your School home examina�on and qualify for the Na�onal Level contest in Delhi on 15 May 2020 and become

Na�onal Champion.

All the sheets will be sent back to the office of “Save Water Save Life” for re-evalua�on by the panel of judges. Final result will be

communicated to each school, via email to the coordinators, which can be put up on the no�ce board.

Judges to declare a Regional Winner.

thDelhi, on 15 of May 2020, to compete for the Na�onal Champion.

All certificates are generated online and ‘Save Water - Save Life’ does not send any certificates in the post.

You will be able to view your submission and certificate on your online dashboard, visible when you log

in. Certificates will only be available to download once judging is complete.

School will be eligible to par�cipate in the programme with a minimum registra�on for both the

compe��ons;

= If only one GROUP is par�cipa�ng then 50 par�cipants

= If two GROUPS are par�cipa�ng then combined 100 par�cipants

= If three GROUPS are par�cipa�ng then combined 150 par�cipants

= If four GROUPS are par�cipa�ng then combined 200 par�cipants

In case of minimum number of par�cipa�on from a school is not achieved, the decision of programme

promoters shall be final and binding concerning its par�cipa�on in the programme.

In case of cancella�on of a school from par�cipa�ng in the SAVE WATER SAVE LIFE, the registra�on fee will

not be refunded.

The School Management is requested to deploy a dedicated person with basic computer knowledge to

communicate with the SAVE WATER SAVE LIFE Office.

In case of a TIE at School level, Lucky Draw will be conducted by the School only amongst the students to

choose the winner.

The winners will be en�tled to the higher eligible award only.

In all ma�ers pertaining to the compe��on and result declara�on, the decision of programme promoters

will be final and binding.

What Guideline Kept in Minds Must Be

Drawing The drawing must reflect the compe�tor's own original thinking.

Any copyrighted image used in the drawing must be iden�fied properly.

No trace paper, gli�ers, gum and electronic gadgets will be allowed.

Acceptable tools of drawing include pencil, crayon, oil pastels. The completed artwork must be on a

flat piece of paper.

The drawing must not include words, Na�onal Flag, or slogans.

The drawing must not represent any par�cular individual, organiza�on, or brand name and must not

depict any religious theme.

Examina�on dura�on would be one hour.

Essay wri�ng The essay must be wri�en in English/ Hindi language.

The essay must reflect the compe�tor's own wri�ng and original thinking.

Any quota�ons or copyrighted material used in the essay must be iden�fied properly.

Ÿ When you visit the website enter the valid email id and click the SUBMIT tab and then you will receive a mail

Ÿ From your e-mail you have to click the DOWNLOAD BROCHURE bu�on and you will be redirected to the

registra�on page

Ÿ Click on the REGISTER bu�on and update the school details and also update the coordinator details of the school.

Ÿ Fill the student strength and click the UPDATE bu�on

Ÿ Once the informa�on is shared, the office of “SAVE WATER SAVE LIFE” will generate and share the Registra�on ID

of the School.

Ÿ Click the DOWNLOAD THE REGISTRATION form bu�on and you will receive the Student Registra�on Form.

Ÿ Student Registra�on Forms shall be distributed to every student (Par�cipa�ng or Not Par�cipa�ng) in the school

from Standard 1 to 12.

Ÿ Download the Student Registra�on Form from the website www.savewatersavelife.in, get the photocopies

arranged and distribute it among all the students from Standard 1 to 12 as men�oned above.

Ÿ Take the Printout on A4 sheet as per the total count of Students (Par�cipa�ng or Not Par�cipa�ng) from Standard

1 to 12.

NOTE: One A4 sheet contains TWO Student Registra�on Forms.

Ÿ Ask all the Students to fill up the Form properly as per the School records and collect the filled Forms within 3

working days.

Ÿ Download the Excel Format from the website www.savewatersavelife.in and fill up the details from the forms

received and upload the filled Excel on the website www.savewatersavelife.in or email us at

contact@savewatersavelife.in

Ÿ Once Students’ details are shared/uploaded, the office of “Save Water Save Life” will generate Student

Enrollment Numbers to appear for the School Level Compe��on.

Ÿ As the office of “Save Water Save Life” will get the payment transfer receipt of Students’ Registra�on Fee,

immediately Students’ Enrollment Numbers will be shared to make them eligible to appear for the School Level

Round.

Ÿ Once the School get the Student Enrollment Numbers, School will be eligible to conduct School Level Compe��on

on any day as per their convenience before March 31, 2020.

Ÿ Grand Level Na�onal Finale will be held on May 15, 2020 in the Capital of India, Delhi.

Guidelines for the School Coordinator for Student Registra�on:

The entry fee of Rs. 100/- from each participant for each competition. If the same student is

participating in more than one competition at the same time period, then the entry fee will be Rs. 150/-.
