encouraged to bring a can or two of soup to put in the HAAM

For just as we have many members in one body and all the members do
not have the same function, so we, who are many, are one body in
Christ, and individually members one of another.
Romans 12:4-5
As you may recall from prior years, I tend to begin my reports with offering a few numbers to
summarize some of the faith centered milestone which took place over the past year. Since January of 2016, we were delighted to baptize four individuals who are now part of the Lord’s family. On Maundy Thursday one of our young members celebrated her first communion, and on Reformation Day Sunday, two of our young adults were confirmed in the Church.
Sunday school for all ages gathers throughout the school year and the programs continue to move in the right direction. No small part of this is due to the dedication of our volunteers who are committed to making this a successful program. Our adult Bible study saw a few highs during the course of the year in respect to folks checking the class out. As always, everyone is welcome to join us for this time.
Orin Nelson and his wife Jessica joined us this past fall and he has filled the position quite nicely. He
quickly demonstrated that he is an outstanding organist, and I sense the choir and bell choir are enjoying the opportunity to work together. In regards to our other staff member, Pam Wiggins continues to do a fantastic job in the office, and is a joy to work with.
I want to offer the congregation a word of thanks for being so good to my family. Your kindness and
generosity when Eli was born was humbling. However it was even more so when I witnessed you all do it again just a year later with Max. Many have helped watch the kids before, during, and after worship, which is a tremendous gift you offer to Kaia and I.
I offer my thanks to those who served faithfully on the leadership team. Special thanks to Tim
Trautman who has fulfilled his term and did a great job, as well as our thanks to other leaders of our congregation over this past year. May this upcoming year be a time for Atascocita Lutheran Church to reflect upon and recognize what we wish to do next, as we carry on the mission of the church.

Special Sunday Service - Chrysalis School invites you to a special Sunday service and dedication on February 5. Pastor Holt is planning a special “children’s service” to celebrate the Chrysalis School students and the Cub Scout group that is sponsored by the church.
During the service Pastor Holt will be dedicating the beautiful new light tables and Lego Walls that we purchased for our classrooms through the Bette Nelson Memorial Fund.
We have invited all the students who attend the service to wear their Chrysalis Logo T-shirt.
We look forward to seeing you and your family at this special service!
Thank you to everyone at Atascocita Lutheran Church for supporting our
Seasons of Sharing program. Through your generous donations HAAM
was able to provide additional holiday food to 591 families for
Thanksgiving and 993 families for Christmas.

Registration for 2017 - 2018 School Year
We are pleased to announce our registration for the 2017 - 2018 school year! The 2017 school year will be our 19th year of quality preschool programming serving preschool aged children from our congregation and the surrounding area. We offer a Three Year Old class and a Four Year Old class.
Registration packets will be available on our website, www.thechrysalisschool.org, beginning January 24th, and in the preschool office. Registration for church members and current students and their siblings will begin February 7th. Open registration will begin February 15th at 9am.
