Save the Date for AIA Santa Barbara’s 10 th Anniversary ArchitecTours - October 6 th 2018 “Rediscover Downtown Santa Barbara - Imagine How You Can Live, Work & Play” (Santa Barbara, CA – May 12, 2018) The American Institute of Architects Santa Barbara is proud to announce their 10 th anniversary ArchitecTours event. This year’s tour will celebrate the fabric of Santa Barbara’s very own downtown, including some of its history, its hidden gems, and its evolution. The tour will encourage attendees to “Rediscover Downtown Santa Barbara: Imagine How You Can Live, Work & Play." Save the Date - October 6 th - for this unique event! There have been many conversations recently about the changing face of Downtown Santa Barbara and how best to support its economic vitality, while making it more vibrant, livable, and welcoming. The Rediscover Downtown Santa Barbara tour expands these discussions by exploring Downtown’s housing, business and entertainment through its architecture. For ArchitecTour’s 10 th anniversary, AIA Santa Barbara will offer participants a walking tour of downtown to explore this important and evolving center of Santa Barbara. Each of the 12 selected projects will showcase the best of downtown – and will include a mix of commercial and residential projects demonstrating how Santa Barbara lives, works and plays. Ultimately, the tour will illustrate how Santa Barbara citizens, architects, and planners are coming together to create a unique downtown experience that encapsulates the spirit of Santa Barbara.
