2012 Program Chair Streamer As Programs Chair and the Young Member Representative, I have had the
pleasure of working directly with all facets of the Savannah SAME Post
members. We’ve had a great year in 2012 learning new and upcoming
advancements in saving energy on a variety of systems. Energy is such a
hot topic for all sectors in our industry that the Savannah SAME Post will
continue presenting testimonies of successful projects, and the latest big
energy saving ideas throughout 2013. If you think you have a presentation that
would benefit our industry please contact Justin Arnsdorff at [email protected] or 912-354-4626.
Young Member participation is also starting to pick up this year. We enjoyed a wonderful dinner
evening with SAME Savannah Officers and Board Members at Spanky’s Restaurant on River Street
after the Ice Breaker and Small Business Showcase the week of Industry Day. We also just came
back from an awesome tour of the J. Strom Thurmond Dam in Clarks Hill, South Carolina. We had
a once in a lifetime opportunity to walk inside the 20- foot diameter penstock/draft tubes. We thank
the U.S. Corps of Engineers for allowing us the opportunity to visit the dam and power plant. We plan
to have more exciting events and tours in the future so stay tuned. If you have any suggestions or
venues that you would like for Savannah SAME Post to consider please contact Justin Arnsdorff
at [email protected] or 912-354-4626.

a one day workshop that provides technical training and governmental insight that is
valuable to all engineering disciplines.
First, we are developing a Government Track with briefings that span the federal, military, state
and local sectors to provide our Post with the very latest economic trends and developments.
We need your help with the Engineering and Environmental Tracks! This workshop is about
successes, new opportunities and technologies. We are asking our Post membership to provide
presentations! Please email [email protected] if you are interested in presenting.

It’s that time of year again where we celebrate the Christmas
spirit by giving back to the community and wrapping up
another successful year! This year’s event will be held
on Monday, December 3 at the Jepson Center from
5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Do not forget to bring TWO Christmas
presents this year. One gift needs to be for a boy or girl
at $25 or less, unwrapped, and it will go toward our
charity Toys for Tots which we support each year.
The second present will be part of a gift
