Community Mobilization Concept

Focused on motivating and empowering residents to take leadership roles in the

promotion of well-being and safety in their neighbourhood

Identifying and addressing priority issues in their neighbourhood

Community agencies work with neighbourhood residents to assist them in developing skills,

connect to programs/services and create opportunities for positive action/social

development

Efforts to prevent negative outcomes in relation to safety, health and well-being will be

more successful when community (residents) participates in some way. (Source: Ontario Provincial
