If you read the newspaper, you're mis-informed.”

A newspaper is a publication that is issued daily or weekly

Today we have a large number of different types of newspapers.

For comparison, I have selected the following two: Daily Times and Financial Times.

Sara Hassan 16-10886

Local English Pakistani newspaperSimultaneously published from Lahore,

Islamabad and Karachi

Sara Hassan 16-10886

British-English paper published in London. It has a special emphasis on business and

economic newsAlso published in ChineseIts distinctive feature is its pink colored page “All times are London time.”

Sara Hassan 16-10886

Contents of both newspapersMost of the news stories are in inverted pyramid style in FTFT always starts with a short paragraph that gives a brief

account of what the entire news story will comprise of. For example,

Sara Hassan 16-10886

News stories in Daily Times are also in inverted pyramid style

FT has a slant towards London as seen in its slogan as well.

DT paints a better picture of Pakistan especially Sindh and Punjab.

FT is molding a very bad name for Pakistan

Sara Hassan 16-10886

FT is anti-Islam

Sara Hassan 16-10886

FT uses flowery language while DT uses clear and straight forward writing style.

The use of words is very simple for the lay man to understand in DT and vice versa

Both have around 6 to 7 columns in total in one page

Sara Hassan 16-10886

The length of articles is almost the same in both

There is clarity and to the point information in Daily Times unlike FT

The headings of FT are very dynamic and catchy

Use of censored language and visuals

PICTORIAL DISPLAYPictorial display is very dramatic and colorful

in FTMost pictures are in actionThe expressions of the people tell half the

story
