ANALYSIS If the this field stays in intact we are probably looking at a an off-the-pace flow. The SpeedRate is very high (59) and there are three need the lead types (E) entered. Therefore we want to focus on those runners who can finish.

#3 CALLAT (20/1) should get this first shot at the frontrunners. He must avoid getting getting sucked into the hot early pace. The cutback to 5.5f should help. He is improving, but he will need to improve some more to win today. His morning line is very healthy.

#11 BANANA THIEF (8/1) should get the jump on the deeper closers. He will need to get covered up from his deep post. He has a knack of finding trouble and while not a win machine he is a good exotics horses hitting the superfecta in 9 of 12 races at today’s distance.

Of the deep closers we will focus on the Q4 SQUARES.

#2 SAMADI SKY (12/1) has a chance for the lower rungs. His record at today’s OClm40k level is a weak 0-10 with 4 in the money finishes.

#12 WHATSTOTALKABOUT (5/1) ran well in his the last race and is 2nd off the layoff. Trainer Servis horses were running out of their minds at the end of Belmont meet. They haven’t been as strong so far at Saratoga. He ran poorly over this same track/surface/distance last year.

#4 FRISKY MAGICIAN (2/1) has been running against better competition. He gets the DROP? NOTES projected. He ran winning effort with an OptixNOTES grade of B at this level over this same track/surface/distance in 2016. The horse most likely to run first or second.

• Individual horses are represented either by SQUARES (strong finishing ability) or CIRCLES (less-than-average finishing ability).

• QUADRANT 1 (early pace) horses win the highest percentage of races.

• SQUARES (late-pace horses) win nearly 2x more than CIRCLES. The larger the SQUARE, the stronger the finishing ability of the horse.

• CIRCLES in QUADRANTS 3 & 4 have a very low win-percentage. Large CIRCLES indicate horses with weak finishing ability.

• An OptixPLOT with a High Contention (flame) and a SpeedRate >= 40 typically favors SQUARES in QUADRANTS 2 & 4.

• An OptixPLOT with a Low Contention (snowflake) and a SpeedRate <= 15 typically favors QUADRANT 1 horses.
