Topic: Implementing SuperStream Data Standards – A Government Agency Perspective

SAP Solution area: Data Standards

From 1 July 2014, all government agencies will be required by law to pay contributions for their employees using the new SuperStream Data and E-commerce Standard. This will have a significant impact on how agencies process contributions from payroll systems, interface with accounts payable systems and interact with super funds, whether default or choice funds. Agencies will need to become familiar with how to generate XBRL payloads and ebMS message packages from their environment, or alternatively work with an intermediary who might provide this service. SAP systems will play a key part in this overall process of change, both as a data source, but also as an opportunity to drive process improvements right back into HR and payroll systems themselves. Philip will describe the roadmap guiding these changes and some of the strategic and implementation issues each agency will need to address.
