Association for the Promotion of the Status of Women
The monk gardens at APSW, wom-en working at training sessions, the design process, and examples of traditional Thai handicrafts
Mix and Match is a collection imagined and created by a group of women who are resi-dents at the Association for the Promotion of the Status of Women (APSW) in Bangkok.
This project aims to push the boundaries of creativity by working closely with disadvan-taged women. Experimental design workshops allowed them to find their own voice while recovering of piece of themselves in the process of making something by hand.
The uniqueness behind each product reflects an individual character and surprising origi-nality that is waiting to be discovered.
By purchasing an item, you are supporting the social enterprise San Jai that aims to em-power women through creative workshops and the development of contemporary hand-made products.

The New Rice Collection is all about a restart- a new beginning. The name comes from a Thai idiom “Khao Mai Pla Man” or “New Rice, Tasty Fish.” It is a saying meaning “The state of something new being regarded as good,” and that is the theme of the collection from start to finish.
The New Rice products are indicative of a fresh start for the women at the Association for the Promotion of the Status of Women. Creating the products is a chance for the women to earn an income, learn new skills, and participate in workshops to learn and feel empowered.
The materials chosen represent the theme of the collection as well. By using up-cycled elements, the product line gives new life to materials that would’ve been tossed-out.
