Bid: A proposal to workfor a certain amount of

CAPS gradu-ates pledge to uphold acode of ethics and are re-quired to maintain theirdesignation by attendingeducation programs andparticipating in commu-nity service.Change Order: Writtenauthorization to the con-tractor to make a changeor addition to the workdescribed in the originalcontract. Whenenforced, real property —such as your home —can be sold to pay thesubcontractor or supplier.If a subcontractor or sup-

plier signed a lien re-lease, then this lien can-not be enforced.Plans and Specifica-tions: Drawings for theproject, and a detailed listor description of theknown products, materi-als, quantities and fin-ishes to be used.Punch List: A list ofwork items to be com-pleted or corrected by thecontractor, typically nearor at the end of a project.Subcontractor: A per-son or company hired di-rectly by the contractor toperform specialized workat the job site — some-times referred to as atrade contractor.
