My Declaration to
Become a Fearless Indian
“Life is Tough. Tough times never last. But enduring tough
times is Fearlessness. Hence I am deciding to face the
adversities of life with fearlessness and break the obstacles
that life throws at me. I am powerful and confident enough to
shake the roots of suffering and overcome the barriers of
misery. I believe in me and I dare to exercise the power of
choice. I can master my mind to become a fearless Indian. I
will always work on my mind and I will strengthen the habit of
fearless living. I always dream big and I have the courage to
face failure in life. Sky is not the limit for me. I always aim for
stars. It doesn‟t matter even I fail, because I am a lifelong
learner interested to create a page in the world history. I am a
hero. I am an achiever and I am a fearless Indian.”

Invitation to live a
Fearless Life
“With fear, growth in life is not possible.
Without fear, goals in life can be achieved.
With fear, life will become lifeless.
Without fear, all the suffering in life disappears.
With fear, life is a net catching the moments of
suffering.
Without fear, life is an art of bliss.
Fear is bondage.
Fearlessness is enlightenment.
To succeed in life, practice fearlessness.
Great life is possible without fear and this is an
invitation to everyone.”

When a day begins, dare to smile gratefully.
When there is darkness,
Dare to be the first in shine.

When life seems to beat you down
Dare to fight back.
When there seems to be no hope,
Dare to find someone.

Preface
Personally, I love young minds. But increase of stress in
our educational system, fear in students is also
increasing. Stress of students starts from 9th class,
increases in intermediate and continues till graduation.
Parents, teachers, and college management are making
students as Reading machines.
In pursuit of academics, many students are
neglecting to develop innovative ideas, communication
skills, commonsense, physical fitness and most
importantly life skills. But they have good text book
knowledge, which is not saving them from problems and
fears facing in their life. Unable to solve their conflicts,
they are disturbing mentally.
Among all the countries of the world America,
China and India will be the future leaders. But India has
more youth population when compared to America and
China. In India, one individual among five people is in
between the age group of 15 -24. 66 percent of the total
population is below the age group of 35. In reference to
the 2011 censes, 46.4 crores of population is in between
the age group of 15 and 34. It is expected that, in 2020,
the average age of an Indian will be 29 years. Due to this
enormous increase in young population, yearly, labor
force rises by eight percent and Gross Domestic Product
(GDP) will hike by two percent. The age of average
Indian is 25.2 percent. In china, the average age is 34.5
percent. The national median age of America was 37.8
years in 2015.
But I am worried about the suicide incidents
taking place in my country. VJ Niroshi, a video Jakee,

Prathusha Benerjee, a Television Actress, Shika Joshi, a
model, Sai Prasanth, a Kollywood Actor and a Choreo
Grapher, Bharath committed suicides recently.
According to our Central Minister Ahir Hansraj
Gangaram, yearly 1.30 lacks of people are committing
suicide. It includes more than eight thousand students.
Nearly four lacks of people committed suicides in
between the years 2012 – 14. In them, men committed
suicides are 2.68 lacks in number and 1.33 lacks are
women.
These statistics are indicating the increase of
fear in my country. People are neglecting Life Skills and
they are competing for IIT and Medical Ranks, chasing
money and eventually failing in their life.
This book is a small attempt to empower Indians
and I am encouraging them to live a Fearless Life. Even
though the principles written in the book are universal,
as an Indian I emphasize the people of India to live a
Fearless life.
“Life shrinks or expands in proportion to one’s
courage.”

Encouragement to Students is Essential
My Teacher who taught Social Studies to us in seventh
class Mr. Vivekananda sir, in Andhra Pradesh never
expected to cry at a parent – teacher conference. That
was before a pre final exam, when one father came to
talk to our sir about why his son had missed so much
class: Our student had attempted to commit suicide, and
had been hospitalized since the incident.
His son is a friendly, intelligent, handsome, young
boy – not only planned to commit suicide, but also
written goodbye letters.
Vivekananda sir felt helpless by the news, so he
asked the father if he would deliver a handwritten note to
his student at the hospital. Vivekananda sir letter praised
his student for his academic accomplishments and
dynamic personality, and told him how much he missed
in class.
Our student got the letter; his father said that his son
cried, turned to him and said, ‘How could somebody say
such a nice things about me? I didn’t think anybody
would miss me if I was gone,’ Vivekananda sir told in
the parent – teacher conference.

“A house must be built on solid foundations if it is to
last. The same principle applies to man; otherwise he
too will sink back into the soft ground and becomes
swallowed up by the world of illusion.”
- Sai Baba
The purpose of this book is not only to support young
minds of India who are psychologically disturbed, but

to live a life without fear. I have a firm belief that after
reading this book your fear will decrease. The way of
expression and examples written in this book give you
inspiration to live a fearless life.
This book is useful to everyone. You can gift

many fears and try to build a fearless India. And make
others to live a fearless life too…
“What is needed, rather than running away or
controlling or suppressing or any other resistance, is
understanding fear; that means watch it, learn about it,
come directly into contact with it. We are to learn about
fear not to escape from it.”

How I won Fear of Exams?

“INTEREST. Here is the key to the whole thing. If and
when you are truly interested in what you are doing or
about to do, then you will center your attention on it
with little or no effort and almost irrespective of
attendant conditions.”
- Ralph Alfred Habas
In 2004, I have completed intermediate with a good
score of 79.6%. But due to health problem I couldn’t
continue my engineering. Twice I became a drop out in
the pursuit of engineering.
“Though no one can go back and make a brand – new
start, anyone can start from now and make a brand –
new ending.”
- Carl Bard
Later from, Sri Venkataswera University, through
Directorate of Distance Education (DDE), I have
completed Bachelor of Arts (B.A) with 42.5% of marks.

In degree my core subjects are History, Political science
and Public Administration. But, with interest in the
subject of psychology, I have joined M.Sc (Psychology).
In first year, I had failed in three subjects.
“The season of failure is the best time for sowing the
seeds of success.”
- Paramahamsa Yogananda
Later I learnt Kriya Yoga Meditation in 2010 with the
help of my uncle Narasimhulu. With the practice of
meditation, my health condition improved. In second
year I wrote all the exams including my backlogs. I had
written four theory exams, two practical exams from 2nd
year and 3 backlog subjects in the first year. I had passed
with 55.25% in October 2010.
In 2011, I have completed my M.B.A with the
cooperation of my brother. I got A grade in M.B.A.
Later in 2012, November, I have joined as academic
consultant in Yogi Vemana University, in Kadapa. I
have attended interview for three times and finally I got
the job.
“Never stop trying.
Never stop believing.
Never give up.
Your day will come.”
- Mandy Hale
After started working as an academic consultant in
Kadapa, I came to know about National Eligibility Test
(NET) and State Eligibility Test (SET) for the first time.
Even though a student of Distance Education I wanted to
prepare for the exams with complete involvement.

“I am not the product of my circumstances. I am a
product of my decision.”
- Stephen Covey
Up to now I don’t have command on the subject of
psychology.
Ultimately, after a lot of hard work with
concentration, I have qualified for the NET exam in the
5th attempt. The exam conducted in the year 2014,
December 28 I have qualified for the NET and I got
qualified in the SET exam conducted in the year,
February 15, 2015.
“You may have to fight a battle more than once to win
it.”
- Margaret Thatcher
But I have attended all the exams up to June 29, 2014 for
NET with a lot of unbelief in myself.
“The fearful unbelief is unbelief in you.”
- Thomas Carlyle
While answering the first question itself in paper 1, I
faced a lot of fear about the results. Many fearful
thoughts entered in to my mind, such as ‘This is a very
difficult exam. I could not qualify in this.’
“The duty of man is to conquer fear; he must get rid of
it, he cannot act till then.”
- Thomas Carlyle
But after getting seat in Ph.D in January 2014, I came
back to Tirupati. I have joined as a Research Scholar in
the Department of Psychology from Sri Venkataswera
University. From there onwards, I habituated to walk
regularly in the mornings and practiced autosuggestions
such as ‘I am all powerful. I am fearless. What lies
within me is greater than what lies before me and what
lies behind me.’

“The earth is enjoyed by Hero’s. So be a hero. Always
say I have no fear.”
- Swami Vivekananda
Regular practice of walking, autosuggestions and doing
Kriya Yoga had shown a lot of positive effect. This
habits increased confidence and courage in me. And
helped me to face the exams with courage and I had
ultimately got qualified in both the prestigious exams for
the post of Assistant Professor and lecturer in India.
“Beautiful things happen when you distance yourself
from negativity.”
- Unknown
My age is now 29, and I have successfully passed in
M.B.A, M.Sc (Psychology), P.G.Diploma in Guidance
and counseling, NET and SET. As a distance education
student I had a lot of fear about my future.
“The oldest and strongest emotion of mankind is fear,
and oldest and strongest kind of fear is fear of
unknown.”
- H.P. Lovecraft
But now I am more relaxed living a fearless life.
“Time is like a river. You cannot touch the same water
twice, because the flow that has passed will never pass
again. Enjoy every moment.”
- Unknown
The reasons for my educational success are:
“What is success? I think it a mixture of having a flair
for the thing that you are doing; knowing that it is not
enough, that you have got to have hard work and a
certain sense of purpose.”
- Margaret Thatcher

1) Improving confidence.
2) Preparing for my exams with interest.
3) Implementation of Kriya Yoga meditation, Walking,
and Autosuggestions. With all these I am
successful, happy and fearless.
“Disciplining yourself to do what you know is right and
important, although difficult, is the highroad to pride,
self – esteem, and personal satisfaction.”
- Margaret Thatcher
I am not saying that I have achieved everything. But as a
citizen of India, it is my responsibility to boost the
courage of the students and help them pass in their
exams too. While I am studying B.A all my friends are
engineering students. Now I am becoming doctor in the
subject of psychology and I am respected by all of them.
“Never let a bad situation bring out the worst in you.
Choose to stay positive and be the strong person that
god created you to be.”
- Unknown
Many people around me thought that I even could not
pass my graduation.
But after getting seat in Ph.D all people who had
criticized earlier appreciated me.
“An entire sea of water cannot sink a ship, unless it
gets inside the ship. Similarly the negativity of the
world cannot put you down, unless you allow it to get
inside.”
- Goi Nasu
These are the situations I have faced in my life. If you
are inspired by my life experience, try to live a fearless
life because fear is an imaginary idea. So don’t imagine
negatively about your future. Everything is temporary.
World is very wide and you are capable of achieving
many things.

“First believe in the world – that there is meaning

So don’t fear failure. Work with involvement. Try and

with most of the people. You can live a fearless life.

Humble Request to Parents
An Inspiring Story
W
Surya and Shanthi are both engineering graduates
working at MNC‟s. One day, when Surya entered the
home, his son Satya was in tears. His mom Shanthi was
shouting at him, “What is „Newton Law of Motion?‟
Satya, I taught you many times, you‟re still unable to
remember this. But you are able to recall all cartoon
stories.”
Satya wanted to see his mother happy. He wanted to
improve. But he did not know how to see his mother
happy. He was crying.
When, he was in younger class, he used to win many
prizes in different competitions. Surya and Shanthi were
very happy. As he grew up, Satya found it difficult to
grasp many things, his fellow students could do. Shanthi
thought that he was sick. They met doctors,
psychologists and many other psychiatrists. But it made

no difference. Tonight, his father, Surya came early from
the office. He will rescue him.
Soon as his father, freshened up, he kissed Satya and
said “Go and Play.” Satya said, “I didn‟t complete my
homework!” His father replied, “I will do it. Don‟t
worry. Enjoy the evening.”
Satya went to play with his friends. Shanthi was very
upset. She retorted angrily, “I took a career break of five
years, to take care of Satya. Now, I joined in office again
from junior level, where as all my friends have moved to
senior level. What is the point you want to prove? You
love him more than me. You have never attended the
parent teachers meeting. I have to listen from teachers,
and I need to face the other parents. You just don‟t need
to face anything.”
Surya kept quiet for a while and said, “Shanthi, do
you think, by shouting at him, things will improve. You
thought, he may have some memory and concentration
problems, but psychologist proved there is nothing like
that. All children are different. He will improve.”
Shanthi replied back, “But I am always teaching him,
each and everything. I am spending so much time with
him. I am not expecting him to get first prize in
everything, but at least he shouldn‟t be dull. Now he is in
4th standard and he is not sure about 7*8. I am so
scared. How his life will be. I put in so much hard work
on him, still why he not getting marks?”
Shanthi didn‟t understand is the fact that Satya is the
best child. She always wanted the best.
One day Satya grandfather Somanath came to visit
them. He has settled in his village. He occasionally visits
and stays in their house for few days.
He was playing with his grandson Satya and
commented to Shanthi, “Satya is a very good boy.” For
which Shanthi replied in a dull voice. “Hmmmm.” He

sensed something wrong. In the night, after Satya went
to sleep, Somanath asked Shanthi, “What happened.
Why are you so worried about Satya?” Shanthi shared
all her worries with him. They went to the small garden
which Shanthi maintains in her balcony, and the
experienced grandfather said, “I observe you have a
beautiful garden. How do you maintain them?” Shanthi
replied happily, “I take personal care.” “Then why is
this Money plant longer than others. And why is this
Aloe Vera plant shorter than others. Is it a new plant?”
Shanthi whispered, “No, I take care of them. Few
plants grow faster and few take time.” Then grandfather
asked “What do you do then? Do you tell the shorter
plant daily, grow up, look at the other plants, otherwise
your life would be of no use or you nurture them slowly
that it takes time in growing and still love them.”
Shanthi realized her mistake. The experienced
grandfather said, “Few children learn by looking, few
by hearing, few by explaining, few understand things by
doing activities and few learn by practically doing the
things again and again. A mother or teacher should try
to teach in the child‟s best learning language and teach
accordingly. You can‟t think your child is dull. Each and
every child is unique and special. If you nurture him
now, it is good for both of you. If he accepts, he is dull
and turn to be a loser, what will you do?”
Shanthi kept quiet deep in her thoughts…

Morals of the story:
1. Don’t compare your child with other students.
2. Every child is unique and different.
3. As a parent, build self esteem and confidence in
the child.
4. Be patient with your child’s growth. Trust him.
Encourage him. Guide him.
5. Do not put pressure on your child. Maturity
takes time. For some children soon and for
some children slow.
