WalkLocal routesWalk from the site entrance down the lane to Roman Road and Middle Winterslow - a laminated route is available from reception.

The Museum of Army Flying has a café with a veranda where you can watch helicopters taking off and landing.

Walk up Danebury Hillfort, the views are spectacular and it’s brilliant for dog walking.

For delicious cheeses, Artisan breads and fresh local products visit Salisbury Charter Market on Tuesdays and Saturdays.

Go for afternoon tea in the Cathedral, it is lovely.

Visitor’s top tips

The walking tour of Salisbury from the Information Centre gives an excellent overview of the city.

Stonehenge is within driving distance and is a must see.

We enjoyed lots of trips out including Stourhead, Bowood House and Gardens, Old Sarum, Houghton Lodge Gardens, Great Chatfield Manor and Gardens, Old Wardour Castle.

The sculpture park in East Winterslow well worth a visit.
