®WATER WEIGHTS water filled proof load bags are a well

proven method for testing cranes, beams, davits or any

lifting equipment. They are used for marine as well as

industrial and engineering applications.® Fifteen standard types of WATER WEIGHTS proof load bags between 1 and 55

metric tonnes are avaiable in our standard range. Combining different

capacities and specially designed spreaders, any load can be applied.

Specialist "low headroom" bags (marked with “L“ in the table below) are

available for testing where headroom is restricted. These bags are designed for

use of only one bag at each lifting point.

Standard shaped bags (marked with “S“ in the table below) have the shape of a

rain drop, which is the most natural shape for a flexible water container. This

specific shape makes combinations of three bags from a single point possible.

manifold and filling hoses, allows proof load testing to be conducted safely,

without entering the craft in the ‘dangerous’ overload situation.

Larger gangways and small bridges can be tested with our 1 tonne WATER ®WEIGHTS Matress bags (MB1000). These bags offer much flexibility by their

shape, and higher capacities can be achieved.

Easy handling and positioning on site and low carriage costs are some of the

advantages of this testing system. As gradual application of the test load can

more easily be achieved with water weights than solid weights. The amount of

water inside the bags is measured with a calibrated flow track meter.

Water Weights have tested several RO-RO ferry ramps, arranged ballasting

arrangements for ships, tested floors during building renovations and tested

several elevator systems and bridges.

Sales Product Catalo g - ®WATER WEIGHTS Bags / Test Weights

1. In the majority of countries proof load testing of lifting equipment is a

mandatory requirement. Such requirements are legal minimums and many

companies or industries choose to set more rigorous standards.

2. Proof load testing is an essential part of any inspection, repair and

maintenance programme for lifting equipment. In situations where live load

testing is not specifically mandated, it is still an essential element of safe

maintenance and advisable for liability purposes.

3. Successful proof load testing instills confidence in customer, operator and

owner.

® 4. The use of WATER WEIGHTS water filled proof load bags for load testing all

kinds of lifting equipment is recognised world-wide as a safe, efficient and cost

effective system.

® 5. WATER WEIGHTS water filled proof load bags have been specifically

designed and physically proof load tested to verify that their operational

integrity exceeds UK Health and Safety Executive Standards.

6. Water Weights have, in line with Lifting Equipment Engineering Association

(LEEA) Guidance Document 051, a physical load test programme. All

equipment has a proven and certified factor of safety in excess of 6:1 and each

bag is physically proof load tested to a minimum of twice its rated capacity.

7. Gradual application of load under test conditions is essential. This is ®more easily achieved using WATER WEIGHTS water filled proof load

bags than traditional solid weights.

8. In the event of failure of the equipment under test, consequential

loss or damage is usually limited and often prevented when using ®WATER WEIGHTS water filled proof load bags.

9. There have been several serious accidents throughout the world

during proof load testing involving sub-standard water containers

which were simply not designed for the physical demands of proof

load testing. Water Weights strongly advise potential users of 'water

containers' to request evidence of physical proof load test certificates

from a recognised Government body or testing authority, proving

that the equipment meets with the minimum factor of safety legally

required.

®10. WATER WEIGHTS water filled proof load bags fully meet the

essential safety requirement of the European Machinery Directive

and are fully certified in accordance with LEEA Guidance Document

051 and the America Bureau of Shipping (ABS) Product Design

Assessment. Water Weights is approved toISO 9001:2008.

LE Load Link Series

The Water Weights LE series use microprocessor based electronics, providing

excellent power management to ensure maximum battery life. Load cell will

switch from active to eco mode (standard one-third of the sample speed) if no

changes in load are detected to save battery power. Specific algorithms within

the LE software and advanced measurement filtering ensure best linearity.

Configuration and calibration can be performed by your supplier.

The LE load link is standard available as a radio telemetry version, however a

cabled version is available on request. The load link will come as a set together

with the GL112 handheld telemetry display (see page 13 of our sales product

catalog). Link ID selection allow multiple load cells within the same area.

The LE load link series is the base model within our load

cell range. A range from 5 up to 300 metric tonne is

available.

SL Load Measuring Shackle

The Water Weights SL telemetry load shackles are based on a standard bow

shackle, with a load measuring system built into its pin. The design and body is

ultra-rugged, ensuring exceptional protection from mechanical damage. The

system uses the LE microprocessor electronics and LE software, (previous

page) providing excellent power management and advanced linearity control.

Configuration / calibration can be performed by your supplier.

The SL load shackles are standard available as radio telemetry units, however a

cabled version is available on request. The load link will come as a set together

with the GL112 handheld telemetry display (see page 13 of our sales product

GL112 telemetry load display

The Water Weights GL112 display is an easy to use, lightweight radio telemetry

display. The unit will operate with any LE-based measuring system and

provides live readout, battery indication for both the load cell and the display,

tare functionality and measurement unit selection.

Link ID selection allow use of multiple load cells within the same area, as well as

using one display for multiple devices (not simultaneously). As all calibration is

set in the load cell, choosing another load cell would not affect the readout.

Optional is a signal output connection (either RS232 serial or analog) allowing

you to monitor, record or analyse the loadcell readout in your own system,

laptop, PC or printer.

The small handheld GL112 digital telemetry load display

comes with all LE and SL load measuring devices. Its size

and weight makes it comfortable to operate.

3. The sole fact that the installation for whatever reason and by whatever cause cannot be used, shall not affect the lessee’s obligation to pay, subject to the provisions of article 9 paragraph 4.

The time necessary for repairs to and/or replacement of the installation shall be deducted from the rent, provided the defect is caused by normal wear , this to be decided by the lessor , and through no fault of the lessee. In that case the lessor shall bear the costs of the replacement, but he shall not be liable for any consequential damages suffered or to be suffered by the lessee as a result of the defect (stagnation damages etc.).

If the lessee does not meet the obligation as referred to in article 5, the lessor shall have the right – without prejudice to any right ensuing from this agreement – to reclaim the installation and to enter (or authorize someone to enter) the installation site. The lessee shall be liable for all persons assigned by the lessor to start up and/or operate the installation or hired as such by the lessee. The lessor shall never be liable in such a case for damages ensuing from actions or negligence of these persons.

Article 14: Final Provisions 1.

The provisions of this contract shall be governed by the laws of the Netherlands exclusively .
