PERMiT – Pipeline Erosion Risk Mitigation Toolkit

Reduce erosion risk while optimizing production

• PERMiT is a unique tool designed to predict and mitigate erosion risk. It helps with design and operation of oil and gas pipelines within acceptable erosion limits.

• Designers can size pipelines and recommend operating envelopes to stay within the erosion limits.

• Field operators can optimize production rates to stay within erosion limits when production scenarios change. It ensures safe and reliable operation of pipelines.

An integrated tool kit that enables Pipeline Integrity

teams to analyze and manage erosion using data

science, erosion science and CFD models.

• Comprehensive suite of erosion models (API, DNV, Salama, Salama-

Venkatesh, Jordan, and ECRC).

Erosion Model Calculations

• Prediction and comparison of erosion rates using

various erosion models for piping components such as

elbows, tees, welded joints, straight pipes, and reducers

• Erosion models available in PERMiT: API RP 14 E, DNV

RP 0501, Salama, Salama & Venkatesh, Jordan – ECRC,

ECRC –Bubble flow

• Construct erosion velocity boundary plots using

different models

• Allows user to superimpose operating envelope curves

generated using different models for comparison

• Create sensitivity plots to see how erosion is affected

by changes to a parameter such as gas velocity or pipe

diameter
