We have many elderly and chronically ill parishioners and friends. We ask that as you remember those on our prayer list, to remem-ber all our elderly and sick parishioners. Thank you for updating names on this list each month.
News from Fr. Citino’s Desk
Dear Parishioners, This weekend we celebrate Father’s Day. It is a special day to recognize our fathers for all the good they have done for us and the sacrifices they made for us. Sometimes we take the special people in our lives for granted. Special days like birthdays, holidays, Moth-er’s Day and Father’s Day are moments of grace for us. If we allow them to be. We are given the opportuni-ty to reflect on how lucky and blessed we are to have such good and loving people in our lives. Be sure this Father’s Day, to recognize your fathers, living and deceased. Thank God for them and for all they have done to make your life better by their love and sacrifices. Recognize the good things you have learned by their example. Today, join me in honoring all the dads of our parish and all our dads everywhere. Pray with me that God will bless and reward them for being good fathers. May all fathers know the love and respect of all of us, their children. Thanks, Dads! Happy Father’s Day! May God be with you always and bless and reward you for your good-ness, example and love. Happy Father’s Day, Dad………...with Love! God bless us all! Fr. Citino
Thank You, Saints Peter and Paul Parish
Thank you Saints Peter and Paul Parish! We were notified on Thursday, June 11 that our parish exceeded our goal this year for the Catholic Charities Appeal. We are grateful to all. The Catholic Church is among the largest providers of Social Services next to the government in our country. The parish contributed $83,572.00.
Novena to Saints Peter and Paul
Feast of Saints Peter and Paul is June 29
O Holy Apostles, Peter and Paul, I choose you this day and forever to be my special patrons and advocates, you, St. Peter, Prince of the Apostles,
because you are the Rock upon which almighty God has built His Church; you, St. Paul because you were fore chosen by God as the vessel of election
and the preacher of truth to the whole world. Obtain for me, I pray you, lively faith, firm hope and burning love;
complete detachment from myself, contempt of the world, patience in adversity, humility in prosperity, attention in prayer, purity of diligence
in fulfilling the duties of my state of life, constancy in my resolutions, resignation to the will of God and perseverance in the grace of God even to death; so that, by means of your
intercession and your glorious merits, I may be able to overcome the devil, and may I be made worthy of the Promises of Christ and enjoy His presence
and love Him forever. Amen
Our Father, Hail Mary, Glory Be.
Prayer For Peace
Lord, make me an instrument of Your peace, Where there is hatred, let me sow love.
Where there is injury, pardon, Where there is doubt, faith,
Where there is despair, hope, Where there is darkness, light,
And where there is sadness, joy. O Divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek
to be consoled, as to console; To be understood, as to understand;
To be loved, as to love; For it is giving that we receive
It is in pardoning that we are pardoned; And it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.

Rosary For Those Suffering From Addiction
Addiction is an epidemic that continues to de-stroy many lives in our country and around the world. Sometimes there is a temptation to think it’s too big a problem and we feel powerless to make a difference. While we are powerless, our prayers—that rely upon the mercy and good-ness of God—are powerful. Let’s not forget that! If you or someone you love and care about has been affected by the disease of addiction, join us on Wednesday evening, June 24 at 7:00 PM. Bring your own lawn chair, wear a facemask and we will gather around the statue of Our Blessed Mother to pray a rosary together. If there is in-clement weather, we will meet the following Wednesday, July 1.
Daily Mass Lectors Needed
We need lectors for our weekly Saturday 8:00 AM Mass. Depending on how many people offer their time and talent, you might only serve once or twice a month. It would be very helpful to have a few more lec-tors on a “sub” list for our daily 8:30 AM Masses Monday through Friday. Please contact Judy Magee at 484-473-8205 or [email protected] if you are in-terested.

We congratulate Michael for his hard work and en-courage all schools to contact us with this exciting news. We are happy to share the good news with the parish.

Music Ministry
Liturgical Music in the time of Covid-19 How do we maintain the reverence of the liturgy in this time of Covid-19?
We seek to keep the familiar rituals and the sharing of the faith, while making adjustments for the safety of the congre-gation. Each parish was prepared to “restart” in-person masses safely, thanks to the Archdiocesan webinars and comprehen-sive resources. Archdiocese directives are in line with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and CDC safety require-ments. The implementation of these directives were customized for each individual parish by the pastors and their staff. Much prayerful thought went into the tailoring of guidelines for our parish. The following information is paraphrased from one of the webinars: The SACRED LITURGY, in which we experience the risen Christ, must be the STARTING POINT for what we do; it is given to us by the Church and celebrated as directed by the Church... However, during COVID-19, we are instructed to make REASONABLE adjustments for the safety of all, in keeping with three CDC standards: 1) Sanitation, 2) Social Distancing, and 3) Limiting assembly (maximum church occupancy - 50% for yellow phase, 75% for green). Wisely, Archbishop Nelson Perez has extended the dispensation (exemption) from physical mass attendance, and all livestream masses will continue, since not everyone can return at this time. Those who can gather, should be able to do so joyfully without fear for their safety. Many adjustments have to do with LITURGICAL SINGING. The music webinar took into account current scientific stud-ies on the aerosols that humans emit during singing. Since the VOICE is the principal instrument of worship, in both speech and song, it IS difficult for us as people of God to make changes. We were instructed to: 1) keep singing to a minimum, with limited or no congregational singing, 2) have more instrumental music, 3) recite some parts that are usu-ally sung, and 4) put away the hymnals. Here’s something to ponder: True active participation requires both the INTER-NAL and EXTERNAL, spiritual and physical, silence and sound, focused toward the worship of God. More on this topic in the next bulletin! Remember: Adjustments are temporary as we look forward to that great day when the liturgy takes place in its fullest form. Let us thank God for the opportunity to worship Him together and to prayerfully do our part while moving forward.
PREP (Parish Religious Education Program)
Dear Families,
In today’s Gospel Jesus tells his followers that while they may face criticism or even death for spreading his Good News, God will always be there for them. God cares for them. While we might not have the same challenges that the disciples had, we may have people that put us or down, our faith down. We need to be strong when opposition comes our way, we must always do the right thing, even if others tell us not too. What God thinks, means more than what our friends think. We need to focus on this when our peers may try to lead us down a bad path.
Remember, “do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul; rather, be afraid of the one who can de-stroy both soul and body.”
Miss Michele
