St. Lazarus in Brazil – Latest Actions and Projects

Following the guidelines and standards implemented internationally by the United Grand Priories of the Hospitaller Order of Saint Lazarus of Jerusalem and by the Lazarus Union – CSLI, and the seriousness and transparency adopted by the Order Saint Lazarus Brazil, we send our report of activities with the major activities:

- Clothes Donation in Nova Friburgo On 5 February 2016 the Nova Friburgo Group of Corps Saint Lazarus international - Order of Saint Lazarus Brazil held its clothes donation to the needy population in the Rural District of Laranjais, in the municipality of Itaocara, interior of the State of Rio de Janeiro. In this charitable action 39 male and female garments were donated for community members, and we congratulate the members of the Group for this work towards the less fortunate.

- Decorations and Awards Ceremony - Firefighters The Order Saint Lazarus Brazil – Lazarus Union International through CSLI Group of Nova Friburgo conducted in a formal ceremony on 25 of February 2016 the granting of awards to the 6th Military Firefighters Corps of the State of Rio de Janeiro. In memory of the 5 years of the tragedy of 2011, the flag of the 6 G. B. M in Nova Friburgo was awarded the Medal of Friendship of the CSLI and the Cross of Merit of the Fire Fighters. Military Lieutenant Colonel Firefighter João de Moraes was also honored with the Cross of Merit of the Fire Fighters. The City Councilor Prof. Pierre was awarded with the Medal of Friendship of the CSLI

We hope this is the start of a relationship of friendship and cooperation between the 6th Military Firefighters Corps and the Order of Saint Lazarus – Brazil.

- General Assembly The Order Saint Lazarus – Brasil hold on March 2nd, 2016 hold its Ordinary General Assembly. The Activities Report 2015, the final financial statements 2015 and the partial financial statements 2016, as well as the main projects guidelines for 2016 and 2017 were approved.

- Easter of the Archangels The “Arcanjos Solidários de Bambuí”, member and associate organization of Corps Saint Lazarus International - Order Saint Lazarus Brazil, held on Saturday, March 19, 2016 its Easter action. The “archangels” visited the clinic for rehabilitation of drug addicts Mount Sinai in Bambuí. During the visit, they organized activities such as: group dynamics, lectures, reflections, prayers and theater. The inmates of the clinic could spend an afternoon unlike no other, with a lot of prayer and reflection and interaction with members of the Archangels. In order to bring faith, hope and charity the group performed this activity to celebrate the Easter of Jesus Christ. According to the vision of the Association, "Easter is not about chocolate Easter, Easter is resurrection, new life, an opportunity to open our hearts so that the faith may resurrect in us". The themes presented in the lectures, dynamic and reflections were "Easter, new life".

- Donation of Elderly Dippers The Commandery of São Paulo of the Grand Priory of Brazil of the Hospitaller Order of Saint Lazarus of Jerusalem, throughout his local representative donated elderly dippers to “Lar Betel” on the city of Piracicaba, São Paulo. This donation aims to bring some comfort to the residents of this nursing home, showing that we will not forget.

- IV Navigation Raid of Itajaí-Mirim River The leadership of the Delegation of Santa Catarina of the Grand Priory of Brazil of the Hospitaller Order of Saint Lazarus of Jerusalem, participated on the 19 March 2016 of the activity created by the Environmental Working Group of Brusque and Santa Catarina State Civil Defense aimed at raising awareness about the pollution of the river Itajaí-Mirim.

They collected at least 4590 kilos of garbage from the river, minimizing the risks due to the frequent floods at this time of year. The Order Saint Lazarus Brazil – Lazarus Union International supports actions like this and was very well represented in this gathering.

- Reiki Project- Campinas The Executive CSLI Group of Campinas of the Order Saint Lazarus Brazil -Lazarus Union International put into practice from March 2016 a new charitable and humanitarian project that aims to empower a team to visit the places where they will offer free Reiki treatment. Through this new project, interested people receive training in Reiki in its different levels. Those who complete the courses receive certificates of Saint Lazarus Academy of Chivalric and Humanitarian Studies (ASLECH) qualifying them, also, to voluntary actions that will be organized by the Group. Reiki is a Japanese natural therapy that, through the gentle touch with the hands, active, restores and balances the vital energy of the body, stimulating the immune system healthy responses. Four courses were already held and 42 people have been qualified to the practice, being able to join in the CSLI – Order Saint Lazarus Brazil and participate in future missions bringing the well-being that Reiki provides.

- Recycling in School The Order Saint Lazarus Brazil – Lazarus Union International – Lazarus Union International, through the Delegation of Santa Catarina of the Grand Priory of Brazil of the Hospitaller Order of Saint Lazarus of Jerusalem, participates in a project started in March 2016 in Penha/SC, at school of “Olaria”, in partnership with the integrated group of coordinated actions (GRAC) Santa Catarina Civil Defense and a local company that recycles pet packaging. This work aims to reduce the number of possible outbreaks of "Aedes ægipt” and the volume of material discharged in the environment, which is deposited in storm, aggravating flooding on public roads, quite common in the region during the summer period. The amount collected from the sale of the material will be reversed to the social projects of the school itself, administered by the Parents and Teachers Association.

- Visit e Donations to APMDFESP The Order Saint Lazarus Brazil-Lazarus Union International, through the Commandery of São Paulo of the Grand Priory of Brazil of the Hospitaller Order of Saint Lazarus of Jerusalem, conducted a visit to the Association of Disabled Military Police of the State of São Paulo (APMDFESP) on 20 April 2016.

Founded in 1993, the APMDFESP operates not only on the physical and psychological rehabilitation of disabled military police and their dependents, but embraced other struggles that relate to working conditions and salaries of these professionals. Representatives of the Commandery of São Paulo discussed with the Presidency of this organization and the directors of the different departments about the ways that we can help this association.

On this day, the Commandery performed the donation of a wheelchair and 13 packages of adult diapers to APMDFESP. We hope this is just the first step of a deeper partnership that will take us to help even more these worthy servers.

- Charity Bazaar in Bambuí The Solidary Archangels of Bambuí, Associated Member of Corps Saint Lazarus International - Order Saint Lazarus Brazil, hold on Sunday April 24 a Charity Bazaar in the popular neighborhood of Bambuí. The action aims to sell clothes at an affordable price to the needy population, all items are sold for only 1 Real a piece, in this way it is possible to provide, at a just symbolic value, clothes for the needy, and the money raised with the sales is reversed in donations (food or other projects). This is the fifth bazaar the group performs in the city since the year of 2015, the event was animated by music they played several songs during the Bazaar. We congratulate all the members of the AGAS (Association Group of Solidary Archangels) for this example of dedication to the next one.

- Joan of Arc Celebrations – Orléans / France In another exceptional participation abroad, the Order Saint Lazarus – Brazil had again the honor of being invited to celebrate the history of Joan of Arc, in the city of Orléans (first city that the Saint Warrior helped release from the English in 1429).

There were more than 10 days of tributes, celebrations, history and memory, to which we continue to be connected.

- Elderly Ladies Home – BH On April 30 2016, the CSLI Group of Belo Horizonte of the Order Saint Lazarus Brazil - Lazarus Union International visited the Home for Elderly Santa Gema Galgani in Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais.

The Elderly Home Santa Gema Galgani is an institution that has today 20 low-income elderly women as fixed residents, some of them with great physical difficulties. And it passes through major financial difficulties and cannot offer activities to their residents.

On this day, the Group made a small donation of mugs for individual use and syringes for insulin, also provided the maintenance on computer equipment, the installation of audio and video room, and proposed a musical animation. Other visits to this social institution are planned, and the National and International Command welcomes hardly the initiative.

- Civilian Firefighters Meeting On the April 30 2016, the Order Saint Lazarus Brazil - Lazarus Union International, through an appointed representative of the Commandery of São Paulo Comendadoria, participated in the first meeting of the Civil Volunteer Fire Fighters of the ABCDMR (Santo André, São Bernardo do Campo, São Caetano do Sul, Diadema, Mauá and Ribeirão Pires).

One of the organizers of the event was the NUPREC (Nucleus of Voluntary Actions on Civil Protection and Defense), an important entity that operates and enhances volunteers and with which we are strengthening ties. It was an excellent opportunity to learn and, also, to further deepen this relationship.

- Charity Bazaar Bambuí Once more, the Solidary Archangels of Bambuí, Associated Member of Corps Saint Lazarus International - Order Saint Lazarus Brazil, hold on Sunday May 22 a Charity Bazaar, this time the Campos neighborhood of Bambuí. As always, the action aims to sell clothes at an affordable price to the needy population, all items are sold for only 1 Real a piece, in this way it is possible to provide, at a just symbolic value, clothes for the needy, and the money raised with the sales is reversed in donations (food or other projects). This is the sixth bazaar the group performs in the city since the year of 2015, the event was animated by music they played several songs during the Bazaar. We, again, congratulate all the members of the AGAS (Association Group of Solidary Archangels) for this example of dedication to the next one.

- Decorations and Awards Ceará

Through our Officer of Merit, Cel. PMCE Ghiorgiony Franklin da Silva, during the ceremony in which he was promoted to the highest rank of the military police of Ceará, the Order of Saint Lazarus Brazil - Lazarus Union International awarded high authorities of the State. It was the occasion to show our gratitude for the support on the charitable and humanitarian activities carried out in the State and, also, to pay tribute to the members of this valiant corporation. On this day the Governor of Ceará Camilo Santana was awarded the Grand Cross of the Lazarus Union of the United Nations. The Cel. PMCE Francisco Tulio Studart de Castro Filho, Secretary

Chief of the Military House of the State Government was awarded as Grand Commander of the Flame of Mercy of Lazarus Union, joining the Cel. Ghiorgiony Franklin da Silva on this honor. We congratulate all of those who were promoted and, through them, all members of the military police and the entire population of Ceará.

- Day Care Donation The Commandery of São Paulo of the Grand Priory of Brazil of the Hospitaller Order of Saint Lazarus of Jerusalem - Lazarus Union International put in place another charitable action on 25 may 2016. Representatives of the Commandery of São Paulo donated 15 dental hygiene kits and R$100,00 to the “Nossa Senhora Rainha da Paz” child’s daycare. This is the first action with this social project, and we hope will lead us to other in the future.

- Crosswalk The Delegation of Santa Catarina of the Order Saint Lazarus Brazil - Lazarus Union International has organized and participated in a project of safety for pedestrians. Representatives of Order Saint Lazarus Brazil prepared the project of a crosswalk in front of the “Escola da Olaria”, in Penha/SC, a place that has a large flow of pedestrians due to school flux and due to the proximity to the Amusement Park Beto Carrero World. In addition to the preparation of the project, the Delegation of Santa Catarina was responsible for the contact and negotiation with the contractor “Baltt Empreiteira, Transportes e Terraplanagem”, which assumed all costs and installed the crosswalk on the 27 of May. We congratulate the Delegation of Santa Catarina for this successful action, and we deeply thank the “Baltt Empreiteira, Transportes e Terraplanagem”, our partner in this action, they have shown their social conscience and value, in addition to their business sense.

- Sports Items Donation Representative of the Commandery of São Paulo of the Order Saint Lazarus Brazil - Lazarus Union International organized a collect of sports related material that would be destroyed and made the donation of this material to works of charity. There were more than 1,000 pieces with symbols of soccer teams and the brazilian national team (cheerleaders and cotton t-shirts, socks, caps, shorts, cups, aluminum and plastic vessels, key chains, bodies, bags and purses, stickers, school items, cords) that were donated to the social projects of the church of Our Lady of Achiropita, of the Don Orione Foundation and for Animal Care Association Marcia Capp. Other similar actions will be pursued and, we congratulate the members involved.

- Charity and Theatre The Group Ferraz de Vasconcelos of the Commandery of São Paulo of the Order Saint Lazarus Brazil - Lazarus Union International has organized on June 17 an important project combining culture and charity. As an incentive to culture, theatre tickets for Wicked musical were distributed free of charge and, in return, winter clothes were collected for donation to charities. With this initiative, 400 theatre tickets were distributed and 558 pieces of clothing were collected. These pieces were donated to the solidarity social fund of Ferraz de Vasconcelos. This action is a great example of the commitment of our members with culture and with society. And a landmark that the Group Ferraz de Vasconcelos (even still in formation) starts a very successful track.

- Promoting Health Campaign The Order Saint Lazarus Brazil – Lazarus Union International, through our Medical-Operational Group of the Commandery Agnus Dei of Rio de Janeiro organized a preventive action to combat high blood pressure, promoted by a multidisciplinary team consisting of doctors, nurses and other health professionals, and coordinated by a medical doctor who is an Officer of the Order of Saint Lazarus and leader of the group , and a lead nurse who belongs to the same group and is a member of CSLI.

On 19 June took place an event, connected to the "HEALTH PROMOTING CAMPAIGN ", which offered services of primary hypertension identification to the general population, with gauging of arterial pressure, directed consultation and guidance for health professionals, doctors and nurses.

In the courtyard of the Municipal school Manoel Joaquim Salgueiro, located in Duque de Caxias-RJ, on this day, 270 patients were attended, and underwent physical examinations, health guidelines, and when appropriate, forwarding the query scheduling on basic health network. This action, which once more proves our seriousness and our commitment with society, is a great example of the dedication of our members, and we congratulate our members involved in this project.

- Course of Pre-Hospital Care

In another action of the Medical-Operational Group of the Commandery Agnus Dei of Rio de Janeiro of the Order Saint Lazarus Brazil – Lazarus Union International, took place from 4 to 25 June 2016 a Course of Pre-hospital Care. This course, organized and promoted by members of the Group, had an extensive and detailed syllabus, and formed 11 new individuals, preparing them for emergency and basic first aid.

By strengthening our activities on helping others, our congratulations, again, to the members of the Group and to all graduates.

- First Symposium on Conflict Mediation and Judicial Conciliation In another role model of organization and good work, the Group Ferraz de Vasconcelos of the Commandery of São Paulo of the Order Saint Lazarus Brazil - Lazarus Union International organized on June 25 2016 the First Symposium on Conflict Mediation and Judicial Conciliation of the Alto Tiete.

In order to provide opportunities for the presentation and discussion of alternatives in the pursue of social pacification, a panel of experts in Judicial Conciliation discussed different views on conflict mediation and the conciliatory process to an audience of 70 individuals from different legal segments between magistrates, lawyers, students and technicians. We thank the church of Our Lady of Peace in Ferraz de Vasconcelos, for having offered their locals to us, as well as to all the partners and supporters of this event, without which we could not have completed this project. Congratulations, logically, to the members of the Group for this exemplary work.

- Coffee Donation When checking a pressing need of the “House Santa Marta” in Jundiaí, the Order Saint Lazarus Brazil- Lazarus Union International, for the initiative and action of the Group of Jundiaí, on June 16 made the donation of 20 kilos of ground coffee to this entity.

- Winter Festival BH

Last July 9 took place the first Winter Festival of the Elderly home Santa Gema Galgani at the parish hall of St. Margaret Alacoque church, in Belo Horizonte. The support of the Group of Belo Horizonte of CSLI, representing the Delegation “Monte do Cruzeiro” of Minas Gerais of the Order Saint Lazarus Brazil, was fundamental to the achievement of the party. The members of this group have donated 200 mugs which served as

entry to the festival and allowed the fundraising for the party itself and also for the Elderly home. Another example of dedication to the needy from this active Group, which deserves congratulations from the National and International Command.

- Mug Donation

On 21 July, the Group of Nova Friburgo from CSLI – Order Saint Lazarus Brazil donated 50 hard plastic mugs to the Home Shelter Love to Jesus (LAJE), in the town of Nova Friburgo, Rio de Janeiro. LAJE, a philanthropic organization, was founded more than 80 years ago, on 14 July 1929, by a group of people concerned about the constant death of beggars on the streets of the city, because of cold and hunger. Institution of Long Permanence for Elders, it

follows the rules laid down by ANVISA. Has today 80 elderly, needy, all requiring special care. Its main objective is the physical and psychological recovery of the sheltered, taking them out of sub-human conditions that often are. Due to the number of elderly, it counts today with a physician specialized in geriatrics, audiologists, dentists, physical education professionals, psychologists, physiotherapists and nursing technicians. Due to the intensive use of mugs and sterilization procedures, LAJE has a need of approximately 500 mugs a year. In this way, the Group is open to receive donations that will forward to the entity. In another example of the seriousness and the commitment of our members, we congratulate the Group of Nova Friburgo for this action.

- Winter Campaign RJ As it has been done for a few years now, the Commandery Agnus Dei of Rio de Janeiro of the Grand Priory of Brazil of Hospitaller Order of Saint Lazarus of Jerusalem (Order of Saint Lazarus Brazil), in another charitable action in partnership with CIRCES-OSTI, undertook the collect and donation of a large amount of clothes to CELPI (SEWING AND MILK PRO-CHILDHOOD). In the 2016 campaign, 266 pieces were donated. This donation is of extreme importance to the families assisted by this project and, once again, demonstrates the chivalric values, the seriousness and the commitment of the members of the Order Saint Lazarus Brazil-Lazarus Union International. - Elderly Home - BH

The Group of Belo Horizonte of CSLI Brazil, representing the Delegation of “Monte do Cruzeiro” of Minas Gerais, of the Order Saint Lazarus Brazil, made in August 13 a donation of hospital and cleaning supplies to the elderly nursing home “Santa Gema Galgani”.

The nursing home was going through a severe lack of cleaning and hygiene products and received support from the Group, mainly with the donation of 1,100 units of disposable gloves and over 200 other items.

- Charity and Theatre 2 The Group “Ferraz de Vasconcelos” of the Commandery of São Paulo, of the Order Saint Lazarus Brazil - Lazarus Union International, continuing its project that combines culture and charity, on 7 August distributed tickets to the musical play Wicked requesting in return for donation of toys for donation to charities. In this initiative, 100 tickets were distributed and 150 toys collected. The toys were donated to the solidarity social fund of Ferraz de Vasconcelos. Another landmark that shows the Group Ferraz de Vasconcelos is on the right path.

- Second Symposium on Conflict Mediation and Judicial Conciliation Continuing this important project, the Group “Ferraz de Vasconcelos” of the Commandery of São Paulo, of the Order Saint Lazarus Brazil - Lazarus Union International organized on 28 July 2016, the 2nd Symposium on Conflict Mediation and Judicial Conciliation. This time in the Legislative Assembly of the State of São Paulo in Brazil. Again with the goal of providing opportunities for the presentation and discussion of alternatives in search of social pacification, a panel of experts in Judicial Conciliation exhibited different views on conflict mediation and the conciliatory process to an audience of more than 120 people from different legal segments between magistrates, lawyers, students and technicians. Congratulations, again, to the members of the Group for this successful action.

- Étoile du Bien et du Mérite - France For a few years now we have established an agreement of friendship and partnership with the Association "Étoile du Bien et du Mérite" in France. With the change in its Presidency in 2016 we renewed these ties and to mark this occasion 5 of our members have received the recognition of their dedication to the needy through the prestigious decorations of this organization:

- Promoting Health Campaign 2 In continuity of the "CAMPAIGN PROMOTING HEALTH", on September 20 the grouping 2016 the Medical-Operational Group of the Commandery Agnus Dei of Rio de Janeiro of the Grand Priory of Brazil of the Hospitaller Order Brazil of Saint Lazarus of Jerusalem, organized the second edition of this action that offers primary care services to identify hypertension in population, with gauging of arterial pressure directed consultation and guidance for health professionals doctors, nurses and technicians. Promoted by a multidisciplinary team consisting of doctors, nurses and other health professionals, and coordinated by a medical doctor who is an Officer of the Order of Saint Lazarus and leader of the Group, and a nurse member of the CSLI. On this day, the team examined 78 patients who underwent physical examinations, health guidelines, and if it seems appropriate, forwarded the query scheduling on basic health network.

- Children’s Day Party - Jandira

The Group of Jandira, of the Commandery of São Paulo of the Order Saint Lazarus Brazil, collaborated with the children's day party held in this city. They donated 200 packages of popcorn that joined the 6 food baskets and 135 items of clothing that had been donated to needy institutions.

Our more than deserved congratulations to the members of this brave Group.

- Brazilian Conference on Disaster Risk Reduction

Emphasizing the connection with the missions of Defense and Civil Protection, the Delegation of Santa Catarina of the Order Saint Lazarus Brazil-Lazarus Union International participated in the I Brazilian Conference on Disaster Risk Reduction, which took place in Curitiba-PR fromf 12 to 15 October 2016.

This participation is very important for the improvement of our actions in this segment and will be one of the bases of the reformulation of the Saint Lazarus Academy of Chivalric and Humanitarian Studies that will be implemented in 2017.

- Home Shelter Love for Jesus

On 13 October 2016 the Group Nova Friburgo of CSLI - Order Saint Lazarus Brazil visited again the Home Shelter Love to Jesus (LAJE), in the town of Nova Friburgo, Rio de Janeiro. In this action, the Group donated 158 cookie packages to be distributed to 79 elderly inmates

of this entity. The seriousness and the commitment of the members of the Group Nova Friburgo is visible once more and puts this unity between the most active of Brazil.

- National Firefighters Seminar From 09 to 11 November 2016, Florianópolis hosted the 16th edition of the National Firefighters Seminar (SENABOM) and the 3rd International Fair of Fire Prevention (FIPIE). The SENABOM is considered the largest and most prestigious event of firefighting and prevention of Brazil, and the Order Saint Lazarus Brazil-Lazarus Union International was represented by the Delegation of Santa Catarina. With the goal of presenting new technologies on the market, promote the commercial exchange between foreign and Brazilian companies, provide the exchange of experiences on fire operations throughout Brazil and also bring together professionals in the sectors of prevention, firefighting, rescue and emergency. The event included lectures by national and international experts, operational tests, round tables and fair exhibition of materials and equipment.

- Home of the Poor Saint Vincent de Paula

On a visit to the Home of the Poor Saint Vincent de Paula in the town of Nova Friburgo-RJ, our Group Nova Friburgo of CSLI -Order Saint Lazarus Brazil took the opportunity to make a donation to this institution. After being received by Sister Helena and Sister Adriana, who are both in charge of this entity, the members of the Group were able to visit the

facilities that serve 80 elderly and 80 disabled, totaling 160 individuals in need. They donated 192 rolls of toilet paper, enough to all of the "residents". Congratulations once again to the members of the Group Nova Friburgo.

- Association “Espaço Pipa” On December 6, 2016 the Group of Piracicaba, under the aegis of the Commandery of São Paulo of the Order Saint Lazarus Brazil - Lazarus Union International made the delivery of 80 Christmas puddings to the Association “Espaço PIPA” - Down syndrome.

The “Espaço PIPA” - Down syndrome is a non-profit entity maintained by the Down Syndrome Association of Piracicaba-SP, which serves people with Down syndrome (DS) without age limits and with other syndromes and/or associated disabilities. Theyr mission is to articulate actions that promote the exercise of citizenship of the person with DS in terms of inclusion.

Currently carries out activities to achieve a network of support for families of people with Down syndrome, in order to give them power and enable them to assume the same role as any family takes the education of their children, to meet the needs of the person with Down syndrome from birth to aging.

-National and International Recognition The seriousness of our actions, of our works, the defense of our chivalric and humanitarian values, keep bringing us recognitions, both in national and international levels. Different organisations offered our deserving members their recognitions and awards. Many of our members were honored with these awards and others will still be able to postulate in some cases.
