Grove) and Mission Church of Saint Vincent de Paul (Rancho

Becoming Catholic….
Are you someone or do you know someone who: Has expressed an
interest in becoming Catholic? Have adult children who have not
been baptized? Was baptized Catholic but have not celebrated
the
Sacraments of Initiation: Confirmation and/or Eucharist OR Was
baptized in another Christian denomination
and wishes to become a member of the Catho-lic church?
We offer an opportunity to come together in a small group to
learn more about our faith. We come together to learn about Jesus
and His teachings, and the weekly sessions focus on the teachings
and experience of the Church and prepare individuals to celebrate
the Sacra-ments.
During our meeting, you are welcome to partici-
pate in the process and ask questions as you would like. You can
think, imagine, wonder, and reason out your faith story in a warm
and welcoming environment.

ADULT CONFIRMATION
We offer an opportunity to come together in a small group to
learn more about our faith. Weekly sessions focus on the teachings
of Jesus and the Church and prepare individuals to receive the
Sacrament of Confirmation. Classes will be, Tuesdays beginning in
September through November 2020. You are welcome to participate in
the gradual process of spiritual formation that includes prayer,

2020 The Offices of Family and Faith Formation and Youth and
Young Adult Ministry are pleased to an-nounce Ministry Days 2020:
“Rejoice and Be Glad” online Thursday, September 24 through
Satur-day, September 26. This event is for all Catholics, but
especially for those who are active in Parish and School ministry
Registration for Ministry Days is now open and can be completed
online through our website: www.ministrydays.com. This website is
your destination for all information about the event including
descriptions of the Keynotes, and workshops (coming soon) as well
as the schedule for the event and where you will find the links to
join the workshop session during Ministry Days. Our theme this year
calls us to Re-joice and Be Glad because God never abandons His
people. While the need to equip families spiritu-ally and connect
them to a church is felt stronger in time of struggle, we also need
to remind all that they need God to survive and thrive. We are
called to walk the journey together accompanying each other in our
call to holiness. We look forward to seeing each of you virtually
at Ministry Days in September!
Second Collection Pope Francis has asked our par ish to suppor t
the Pontifical Good Friday Collection, which helps Christians in
the Holy Land. Your support helps the church minister in parish-es,
provide Catholic schools and offer religious education. The
Pontifical Good Friday Collection also helps to preserve the sacred
shrines. The wars, unrest and instability have been espe-cially
hard on Christians. In these times of crisis, the Pontifical Good
Friday Collection provides humanitarian aid to refugees. When you
contribute to the Pontifical Good Fri-day Collection, you become an
instrument of peace and join with Catholics around the world in
solidarity with the Church in the Holy Land.

Adult Faith Enrichment (AFE) Beginning September 30, 2020 -
November 18, 2020, St. Joseph’s Parish AFE will be offer ing a
bible study program from Ascension Press entitled, "Hebrews: The
New and Eternal Covenant"; an 8-week Bible study program that takes
Catholics on a guided tour of what is considered the “Holy of
Holies” of biblical theology. Presented by Dr. Andrew Swafford and
Jeff Cavins, this study program draws out the mean-ing of the book
of Hebrews in a simple way and highlights the critical differences
between the Old and New Covenants. Classes will be offered on
Wednesdays using Zoom. Participants can attend one (1) of two (2)
sessions:
Morning session: 9:30 am. - 11:00 am. Evening session: 6:30 pm.
- 8:00 pm.
You can register and purchase the class material (workbook) at
www.ascensionpress.com The cost for the workbook is approximately
$30, and will be sent directly to your address. Purchase includes
on-line access to the video for 1 year. You do not need to purchase
any additional videos. Should you have any questions about the

may take a week to receive your materials.
