THIRD SUNDAY OF LENT
March 15, 2020
St. Denis Church stdenischurchdouglas
“Everyone who drinks this water will be thirsty again.” (John
4:13) Jesus reminds us that material things, even something
as basic as water, can never satisfy us for long. When we
build our lives around material possessions, we always want
more. True Joy and Peace only comes when we follow Je-
sus; when we become more “God-centered” and less
“self-centered.”

We light this week’s Tabernacle Candle to pray for the special intentions of:
James Belanger
The Sanctuary Candle is the candle next to the Tabernacle, which signifies the real presence of
Christ within it. You can dedicate this Sanctuary Candle in
memory of a loved one or for a special intention for one week; the name will be published in the bulletin so that
your intention can be prayed for by everyone during that time. Suggested donation is $10

LENTEN (FRIDAY) SOUP SUPPERS
This Friday only at 6:45 pm
In the spirit of the Len-ten season as we jour-ney together towards Easter, join us at 6:20
every Friday during Lent in Keresey Hall for a
simple supper of meat-less soup and bread.
A different ministry group of volunteers will be hosting each meal.
No registration necessary.
This past Friday we started praying the Rosary at 6 pm and will continue to pray for nine days. ALL ARE INVITED to join us in praying the Holy Rosary here, or from home at 6 pm. Fr. Juan will make a facebook live event every evening for those of you would like to pray together from home. To follow at home, like us on Facebook at St. Denis Church.
Come pray the

To be eligible, you need to be a member, or have an eligible relative (father, grandfather, uncle or deceased family member) of Knights of Columbus Council 365 to sponsor your application, which can be found at our website: www.kofc365.org/scholarship
The deadline for submission of the applications is
April 1, 2020.
VOLUNTEERS NEEDED FOR OUR PASSION PLAY
We are looking for volunteers of ANY age to help with this year's Passion Play – a moving reenactment of our Lord's final hours and passion. Most parts are non-speaking, and costumes are provided. There are two 2-hour rehearsals – Sunday March 22nd and Sunday March 29th (times to be determined - usually in the afternoon). The Passion Play is presented on Palm Sunday weekend at the 4:00pm Mass on Saturday April 4th and at the 10:15am Mass on Sunday April 5th.
Please help us continue this wonderful tradition at St. Denis – it's such an impactful way to start Holy Week and truly experience Jesus' gift of life to us all. For more information or to sign up to help, please contact Kris Blatchford at 508-476-2919 / [email protected]
