The world’s leading boating membershipcompanySailTime was launched in 2001 on one of the many beautiful lakes in Austin, Texas. Our membership grew quickly and we were soon able to offer quality sailing opportunities from more than 40 locations throughout North America.

In 2004 we brought our membership model and top spec boats to Europe. We began our European operation on the UK’s south coast, at Hamble. As our popularity grew, so did our reach and we now have more than 15 bases across Europe, including Lymington, Falmouth, the Cote d’Azur and Istanbul.

In addition to Europe and North America (including the USA, Canada and Caribbean), we have 3 bases in Australia.

SailTime is just like any club membership, but on the water. You pay an annual fee, use the equipment, wipe it down when you are finished and leave, without any of the usual responsibilities such as maintenance, insurance, mortgage and mooring costs.

Enjoy all the benefits of sole ownership without the costs and time commitment. We take care of the marina fees, routine maintenance, servicing, repairs and insurance, and in addition we guarantee a monthly income.

Typically SailTime owners save the equivalent of up to 50% of the boat purchase price over 3 years.

Our RYA accredited training programmes can help you improve your sailing and boating skills, whether you are planning on getting out on the water for the first time or wish to gain the RYA Yachtmaster status.

Thanks to our network of SailTime bases in more than 50 locations around the world, it’s possible for you to enjoy sailing and boating even when you are away from your home base.

Life on the water with SailTime

From the thrill of cresting white tops in blustery conditions, to the pleasures of anchoring in a secluded bay for a lunch of freshly caught fish, few other activities can offer the range of experiences and social opportunities that sailing and powerboating can.

From one of our growing number of bases throughout the UK – and even the world - you can enjoy plenty of opportunities for messing about on the water. As a SailTime member, you can choose how you want to spend your SailTime hours.

• Indulge in a day, weekend, week, or even longer in a high spec motor cruiser or sailing boat

• Use your home membership base as a springboard for travelling further afield. You could head to Salcombe or Whitstable for an indulgent, seafood lunch. Explore the hidden coves of the Jurassic coast, or head to Guernsey for a romantic weekend away. Practise your inland skills on Windermere, or sail with dolphins in Cardigan Bay

• Take SailTime with you on holiday and enjoy your membership at one of many overseas destinations from Holland, France and Italy to the USA and Caribbean. See the end of this brochure for a list of our global locations

Page 6: SailTime UK Brochure

Membership of SailTimeAt SailTime, we don’t believe the social buzz of sailing with a mini-flotilla to France, or the delights of sunbathing on your boat’s sundeck undisturbed by the noise of the beach, should be the sole reserve of those who have plenty of time and money.

As a member of SailTime you don’t need to buy a boat or spend precious time maintaining it. We do all of that for you, we even pay all the insurance and mooring fees whilst you decide where you want to go.

The benefits of SailTime Membership include:

Simple membership structure and operationSailTime is just like any club membership, but on the water. You pay an annual fee, use the equipment, wipe it down when you are finished and leave, without any of the usual responsibilities such as maintenance, insurance, mortgage and mooring costs. We provide a sophisticated, but simple to use, online scheduling system. Each month you are allocated a number of sailing slots that you can use that month, bank for use in the following month, or borrow unused slots from the previous month. In addition to this if your boat is available within the next 24hrs, you can book this time free of charge (please note this is a chargeable option for power boats). You can also schedule boating up to a year in advance - anything from a day sail, a night sail or a whole week. This combined with our bespoke electronic check-on and check-off system, makes it easy to schedule your sailing time and ensures the boat is always clean and ready to go.

Access to high quality, top specification yachts and motorcruisersAll SailTime yachts and boats are high quality and very well specified. They all include the latest navigation equipment, heating, electric windlass, fully equipped galley and other features that make boating easy and enjoyable. All SailTime boats are fully certified to the Maritime and Coastguard Agency codes of practice for small commercial vessels and carry extensive safety equipment. The larger boats are fitted with radar and have AIS.

Avoiding the headache of shared ownershipWe find that shared ownership of boats can create many complexities. With SailTime, only an owner-member owns the boat. Your membership allows you access to their boat and is inclusive of all costs. On powerboats, members pay a per litre charge to cover the actual costs of the fuel, and a contribution to the engine service. Your only liability is the insurance excess should you have an accident.

The benefits of SailTime Owner-Membership include:

For people who want to own their own boat but don’t want all the costs and hassleYou can enjoy ownership of a highly specified, fully maintained yacht or powerboat and get paid for the pleasure. You will receive a guaranteed monthly income equivalent to 4-7% p.a of the capital value of your boat. We now have more than 150 boats in the owner-membership scheme worldwide. We offer a programme that provides peace of mind and makes financial sense.

Typically SailTime owners save the equivalent of up to 50% of the boat purchase price over 3 years through the SailTime Programme.

Hassle-free, affordable, boat ownershipYou will be the sole owner of the boat and have all the benefits of ownership without all the costs, time commitment and worry. We pay the marina fees, routine maintenance, servicing and insurance on your boat. We will ‘deep clean’ your boat monthly and take care of all repairs.

High quality boat careWe will put the equivalent of up to seven qualified SailTime members on your boat. Our minimum qualification is RYA Day Skipper Tidal. With only members sailing your boat, we find they develop an affinity and pride of ownership as though it were their own, which means your boat is not treated like a charter boat. Each SailTime member signs a Care Commitment, which ensures that they treat the boat as if it were their own. In addition, through SailTime’s proactive management and high standards, you get a boat that is exceptionally well looked after. The frequent SailTime social gatherings also give you the opportunity to meet the members who use your boat.

Generous access to sailing or boatingYou are guaranteed a minimum of seven sail times per month plus unlimited as available use. In addition, owner-members benefit from a complimentary second membership whilst there is spare capacity on your boat. If time on your boat is more important than maximising your monthly income from SailTime, you can purchase additional membership allocation and increase your time onboard at advantageous rates.

Member Experiences and EventsBoating with your family and friends is a fantastic experience in itself. Here at SailTime we also like to offer our members opportunities to try new things and meet other members. Of course, if you just want to enjoy time on the water on your SailTime boat that is fine with us, but if you wish there are many events to choose from, for example:

• Joining a racing yacht for the Round the Island Race

• Sea-based spectator opportunities for Cowes Week

• Mini-flotilla trips and holidays to the Channel Islands, the Mediterranean and the British Virgin Islands

• Social events where you can meet other members, swap tall tales and even arrange to go boating together

Global Access

As a Member of a global organisation, you can take advantage of opportunities to sail in many different locations around the world. You can swap up to 14 SailTimes each year for time on an equivalent boat at another base in Europe or Australia (We are planning to extend this to North America soon). Simply book the time you want on your own boat in the usual way and then contact your base manager to check on availability at the location you wish to use. Although we can’t guarantee availability, which is also subject to the access rights of the local Members, many of our Members have already taken advantage of Global Access and have come back with stories of great sailing or boating holidays. This is a benefit that no other boating membership business currently offers.

SailTime Plus

If you want to use all of your SailTimes at your home base, you can still gain access to boats at other locations through SailTime Plus. This enables you to purchase time on SailTime boats at other locations. This is not a charter service and we only offer SailTime Plus to SailTime Members. SailTime Plus rates are significantly less than an equivalent charter boat and also offer a number of excellent benefits. For example, SailTime boats are generally newer and higher quality than charter boats. To organise SailTime Plus, simply contact your base manager who will check on availability for you.

Beneteau Oceanis 31The Oceanis 31 is a sleek, elegant yacht that won European Yacht of the Year in 2009. Its designers, Groupe Finot Conq and Beneteau, took many of the innovative features of their popular and award-winning larger yacht, the Oceanis 37, and adapted them to this model. By applying modern styling and ‘larger boat’ specifications to this 31 foot yacht, they have succeeded in creating a beautiful boat that makes no compromise on either design or functionality at the smaller end of the market. Sleeps 4-6.

Beneteau Oceanis 323Our entry-level boat, the Oceanis 323, shares the new lines of its bigger sisters and their all-round performance as well as impressive levels of comfort inside, at the helm and on deck. This superbly equipped 32 footer is safe, stable and fast whether beating into the wind or equally surfing down the waves. Sleeps 4-6.

Beneteau Antares 30The first flybridge in the Antares range, the Antares 30 is designed primarily for cruising, and retains all the excellent seakeeping qualities on which the Antares reputation has been built. The exterior features sophisticated and modern, yet functional, design. The flybridge includes a comfortable saloon arranged around a table with double driving seats. The interior is spacious and light and includes two cabins. Sleeps 4-6.

Beneteau Oceanis 343This 34 foot yacht has won many accolades including Cruising World’s 2005 Boat of the Year. Launched in 2005, she provides expansive internal space and volume, with two cabins, 6’6” headroom and plenty of elbow room. It is this excellent use of space that allows for features such as a separate stall shower – something few yachts of her size offer. She is a very dry boat to sail with the mainsail ‘lazy jacks’ and single line reefing arrangement making her easy for two to handle in all conditions. Sleeps 4-6.

Beneteau Antares 36 (11) Launched as the Antares 11, this boat is now known as the Antares 36. This is an exceptional boat combining a high-performing hull ensuring stability in all sea states, with modern lines and interior spaces that are great to live in. The extremely comfortable interior has spacious living quarters and carefully-designed features, whilst its large, well-equipped fly bridge offers a practical second living space with great views out to sea. Sleeps 4-6.
