ORIGIN Originating from Asia, safflower is a herbaceous plant belonging to the Compositae family. It is nowadays cultivated in the United States and in Australia. It is 10 to 60 cm high and its smooth stem has shiny serrated leaves. Its orangey-yellow flowers appear in summer and look like long tubes, the fruit of which is bitter. PROPERTIES Safflower oil has the highest linoleic acid content of all vegetable oils. Linoleic acid is an essential fatty acid that is not synthesized by the organism and must be present in the diet. It helps to regulate the moisturizing and restructuring abilities of the epidermis. Safflower oil is nourishing, moisturizing and restructuring. SPECIFICATIONS ACID VALUE (NF EN ISO 660/99): < 2 mg KOH/g PEROXIDE VALUE* (NF EN ISO 3960/10) : <10 meq O 2 actif/Kg *peroxide value is < 10 if the product is stored in the conditions described below.
