CONFIRMATION RETREAT All students must a end the Retreat on Saturday April 27th.  They also need to ensure that they have everything completed for the upcoming Retreat and the Confirma-on Mass on May 19th. (Some permission slips are s ll 

missing). Parents need to drop off their candidate by 8:15 am at Marywood Retreat Center, and then be back by 8:30 pm for pick up.             Friendly reminder for those a ending the Retreat: No electronic devices will be allowed - this includes cell phones, iPhones, iPads etc.  If there is an emergency or  a candidate needs to be contacted, the adults will have cell phones available for use and contact.           Also, I have been no fied by other churches that we are one of the last retreats available, so if you cannot make ours you need to no fy Sandra Cur s at the office immediately.  For more informa on please contact  Sandra Cur s @ 904-284-9983.

Sacred Heart Pastoral Council Minutes April 1, 2019

 FEATURED MINISTRY: The 2019 Ministry Fair will be held the weekends of September 21-22 and  28-29  REPORT:  Finance—the Statements of Ac vity for 1/20/19 and 2/20/19 were reviewed.  We remain  financially sound.  UNFINISHED BUSINESS:  1.  The sign at the Green Cove Springs church has been 

completed.  2.  Appoin ng new Pastoral Council Members is s ll in 

progress. 3.  This year’s Eucharis c Congress was well a ended by 

our Fleming Island and Green Cove Springs folks. 4.  BASA figures indicate we are down 3.62% in par ci-

pa on from last year.  NEW BUSINESS: 1.  There are no more carpet remnants to repair and 

extend the life of the carpet in the church.  One thought is to take up carpet in the narthex and use it for repairs.  With that comes a choice of installing  new carpet or installing  le.  More informa on is being collected and no decision has been made. 

 PASTOR’S COMMENTS: 1.  Two sets of handrails will be added to the altar plus a 

railing to the work sacristy.   2.  The Mission with Fr. Simeon Gallagher was a success 

and well a ended.  The next Council mee ng will be June 3, 2019.  

The St. Elizabeth Apostolate for Expectant Mothers The mission of this ministry is to strengthen and    encourage expectant mothers of Sacred Heart Par-ish though prayer and to sustain them by preparing meals for the family a er a new baby is born.   If you are expec ng a baby, please email or call so that we may add you to our prayer list and/or schedule meals for you!  Please contact Stephanie Hundredmark at (904) 307-2326 or Katrina Cramer at (904) 874-8855 or e-mail [email protected].

Marriage Prepara on  Marriage Prepara on: To schedule a wed-ding, an engaged couple must meet with their parish priest or deacon at least eight months be-fore their proposed wedding date. Prepara on for the sacrament includes a ending a diocesan program such as Engaged Encounter or Pre Cana.  Also, couples of child-bearing age will need to take a full course of Natural Family Planning. Pre-registra on for each of these pro-grams is mandatory.  

   The next Engaged Encounter program will be June 7th‐9th at Marywood Retreat Center. The next Pre Cana program will be June 1st in Jacksonville. For more informa on about the diocesan requirements or to register for any of the diocesan programs, please visit www.dcfl.org or call (904) 551-2619.
