Sacred Heart Catholic Church The Holy Family of Jesus, Mary and Joseph–December 30, 2018 Reflection from the Pastor: During the holidays (holy days!), we may spend a lot of time with people that we are supposed to love, but don’t normally see. When we get back together, it’s like we are opening back up the parenthesis of our lives and resuming where we left off since the last gathering. It’s easy to let our minds and hearts wander back to past hurts, to give each other the silent treatment, to divide off into our respective camps, complaining about each other. Don’t give in! Rather, be holy! Move beyond hurt to forgiveness and don’t let the devil reign over your interior life. The Feast of the Holy Family reminds us that Jesus was born into a family, and all that entails. He had relatives who didn’t understand him, who even rejected him and called him names. But he was holy, and he loved. Let’s do the same! Fr. Reflection from the Pastor:

During the holidays (holy days!), we may spend a lot of time with people

that Jesus was born into a family, and all that entails. He had relatives who

didn’t understand him, who even rejected him and called him names. But

Knights of Columbus News

Our next meeting will be Monday, January 14th,

2019 at 7:30 PM.

Knight and Family of the Month Council #2614 would like to congratulate Joe Carder and

Family for being selected Knight and Family of the Month

for November 2018. Joe and his wife Connie have 6

children: Sharon, Holly, Kathy, Jodi, Christin and Joe/Don.

They also enjoy time with grandchildren. Joe is retired from

Oklahoma Fish and Game and Connie is a realtor at

Homestead Realty, LLC. The Carder family is very active in

many of our parish activities throughout the year and are

great servants in our parish during the annual Arkalalah

Booth, Turkey Dinner, Sausage and Brisket Supper and

many other events. The Carder family is an example of a

great Catholic family praying and working together and are a

blessing to our parish. Thank you for your service and

congratulations on being selected for our council for this

month's award.

A Higher Purpose - Consecration to the

Holy Family Program Help strengthen families and revitalize our

parishes. Knights of Columbus councils will

invite each family in their parish to consecrate themselves to

the Holy Family and to devote themselves to the ideal model

of familial love set by Jesus, Mary and Joseph. Prayer cards

will be distributed at each weekend Mass to coincide with

the Feast of the Holy Family of Jesus, Mary and Joseph.

May our families be guided by the Holy Family this

Christmas season.

Meditación del Párroco:

Durante los días festivos, podemos pasar mucho tiempo con personas que se supone que amamos, pero que

normalmente no vemos.

¡No te rindas!
