SĀCO Polymers, SĀCO-AEI Compounds, SĀCO-Macromeric & NWP, INC., are leading global companies in the development, manufacture and sale of additives

and specialty thermoplastic and thermoset compounds. Jacketing compounds are designed to protect the underlying cable core from mechanical, moisture and chemical damage during a cable’s installation and service life. As a full solution provider to the wire and cable industry, SĀCO Polymers and its affiliates offer a wide array of thermoplastic, moisture curable, E-Beam curable and CV curable jacketing compounds, including CPEs. Chlorinated polyethylene (CPE) has been a popular cable jacket material since the 1970s. These compounds offer an excellent balance of physical and mechanical properties that make it the material of choice in many wire and cable applications. SĀCO Polymer’s portfolio of CPE based compounds is designed to meet a range of application requirements including UL 1277 for tray cable applications. The portfolio is designed to be inherently flame retardant, and flame performance can be further enhanced by the addition of synergists during compounding. Cables jacketed with our SACOGUARD™ CPE compounds are able to meet the IEEE 383, UL, CSA and ICEA large-scale flame standards. Compounds are able to maintain flexibility and low temperature impact at temperatures as low as -40°C and offer a continuous use temperature up to 105°C. CPE will not support the growth of mold, mildew or fungus. Natural compounds can be colored.
