As a Helping Hand, volunteers gain experience working with young children in a variety of

developmental stages. Helping Hands build relationships and create a positive impact in the

life of a child.

Shower our kiddoswith LOVE.

Become a Helping Hand.

This requires attending at least 15 hours of free training each year in Early

Childhood Education, as well as, setting a firm schedule of availability with the Little

Learners' Childcare Manager.

Helping Hands, a volunteer opportunity, takes passionate individuals interested in early childhood

development & education and counts them as part of the teacher-child ratio in the classroom.

January 10, 2015 John Huberty 3512 Spring Valley Cove Jacksonville, AR 72076 Dear John, Thank you for generously giving 22 hours of your time in November and December volunteering with the Our House Children’s Programs. Because of you, Our House had an abundant holiday season, filled to the brim with thankfulness, love, joy, laughter, and generous gifts. November was a month full of thanks followed by ample holiday cheer in December for the Children’s Programs, as we cordially greeted the holiday season at Our House. The Children’s Center phones rang off the hook with eager families and community groups offering to serve whole Thanksgiving meals and sweet holiday treats, willing to volunteer, and adopt entire Our House families to deliver the finest presents the North Pole has to offer. Our House can proudly say that our “Secret Santas” provided Christmas gifts for 157 families, while many volunteers graciously delivered toys to the classrooms where they regularly serve. As festive highlight of December, the Children’s Programs hosted the first annual Holiday Show in the Children’s Center, where children from both Little Learners and Our Club sang, danced, and performed holiday skits. Families and volunteers alike gathered to celebrate this season of joy and merriment with an evening of themed entertainment provided by our talented young ones, while sharing in a sweet spread of candy canes and cookies that were kindly donated. Thank you for lending a hand to the kids Our House’s Children’s Programs served in the months of November and December! Your connection with the children and youth that attend the Our House Children’s Programs makes an everlasting impact, not only around the holiday season, but year-round. If you are interested in finding out more ways to get involved at Our House and the Children’s Programs, please contact Sarah Runion at 501-374-7383 ext. 240 or email [email protected]. Sincerely, Georgia Mjartan Sarah Runion Executive Director Children’s Programs VISTA

March 10, 2015 Linda Dawson 804 Greenlea Dr. North Little Rock, AR 72117 Dear Linda, Thank you for giving 90 hours of your time volunteering with the Our House Children’s Programs in February. The lives of the children and students that attend Little Learners and Our Club are positively impacted by your dedication to serving, as your one-on-one interaction can inspire so much hope in a child. The Our House Children’s Programs will look back fondly on February as a month full of love for both Little Learners and Our Club. Walking down the Little Learners hallway, elaborate, handmade Valentine’s Day creations adorned the walls, as if love was spilling out of each of the classrooms and flooding down the hall to greet each parent, child, and volunteer. Open the door to one of those classrooms and you would be welcomed by tiny smiling faces eager to love you for exactly who you are. Meanwhile, Our Club youth learned new ways to pour their love into cooking nutritious meals to share with others in an intensive 5-week course provided by a devoted Our House Community Partner, SPORK. The objective was to empower middle and high school students to spread the love by preparing healthy food options for those less fortunate and, at the same time, equipping themselves with the know-how. Little Learners & Our Club radiate love all year-round. Thank you for lending a helping hand and a warm heart to the Our House Children’s Programs in the month of February! The bonds you grow with the children and youth that attend the Children’s Center leave a lingering impact. If you are interested in finding out additional ways to get involved at Our House and the Children’s Programs, such as mentoring middle and high school students, please contact Sarah Runion at 501-374-7383 ext. 240 or by email at [email protected]. Sincerely, Georgia Mjartan Sarah Runion Executive Director Children’s Programs VISTA
