Notary Public Exam Prep Scenario Class (16 HRS)We are now offering a class geared solely to the most difficult portion of the notary public examination: the written scenario. This program helps students who have already taken the Notary Exam Prep course or who have failed the written scenario portion of the exam. Some attention will also be given to the critical knowledge section of the scenario portion.

This class will start with general legal writing tips, then move onto the substantive information necessary to write a proper legal instrument, worthy not only of a passing grade on the exam, but more importantly, worthy of sound notarial practice. Participants will use class time and personal time preparing notarial acts from scenario facts, which will be turned in to the instructor for useful and valuable critique. This course is geared to those who have already taken the exam and need further instruction for the scenario portion of the exam. Participants should have thorough knowledge of the materials contained in the “Fundamentals of Louisiana Notarial Law and Practice.”

Required Text: “Fundamentals of Louisiana Notarial Law and Practice,” 2015 Edition. $90 (subject to change). Available through The Louisiana Secretary of State Web Site, http://www.sos.la.gov.

Notary Public Exam Prep (48 HRS)The rumors are true: the Notary Exam is difficult. We have extended and revamped this Prep course to help you prepare for and conquer the new statewide Notary Exam. You will be given a specific review of the subjects tested on the new statewide exam.The course requires the 2015 edition of the Louisiana Notary Public examination official study guide, approximately $90, which can be obtained from the Louisiana Secretary of State’s office, at www.sos.louisiana.gov

Please note that the EXAM DATE is scheduled for June 6, 2015. The registration deadline for the State Notary Exam through the LA Secretary of State is April 22, 2015. Forms for applying can be found at www.sos.louisana.gov or call (225) 922-0507 for further information.

Required text: the 2014 Edition of: “Fundamentals of Louisiana Notarial Law and Practice,” which is the Louisiana Notary Public examination official study guide and is available through The Louisiana Secretary of State website. The National Electrical Code: 18-hour SeminarThis seminar will serve as an excellent tool for those individuals seeking preparation for a journeyman, master electrician or state contractor license. It will also benefit anyone in the electrical profession desiring to enhance their overall knowledge of the NEC. This seminar will be based on the 2008, 2011 and 2014 NEC. Participants must indicate NEC (2008, 2011, or 2014) preference when registering. A required Study Reference and Electrical Theory manual for this seminar must be purchased from the instructor, available at www.alvinwalker.com. Participants should bring National Electrical Code Book of their preference and a scientific calculator.

Business Law Exam Preparation Seminar for LA State Contractors Licensing Applicants

This one-day seminar will serve as an excellent tool for those individuals seeking to prepare for the Business Law portion of their Louisiana State Contractors Examination. This abbreviated yet in-depth seminar is for all potential state contractors,(Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning, Plumbing, Electrical, General Contractor, Drywall, Home Remodeling and Improvement, Hazardous Waste Removal, Mold Remediation or others). This event will be based on the current edition of the NASCLA Contractors Guide, the reference used by the Louisiana State Contractors Board for the Business Law Examination.
