Our positioning allows Kohls to be a very recession resistant business. During good and bad economic times our sales remain consistently strong - our customers change some but our business stays solid.

Kohls is not going to be everything to everybody. What we pride ourselves on is picking out a few key values and then executing those values better than our competition.Kohls three core values are: BrandsValueConvenience

I will address each of these in the upcoming slides...

Going hand in hand with store growth is sales growth. In that same ten year period we have grown from a $1Billion company to over $9Billion. This is explosive growth and it makes Kohls the fastest growing major retailer in the nation. Were not slowing down either. We are committed to doubling our sales every three years. Think of what that means: 2005 = $18Billion, 2008 =$36Billion? Company growth equals career opportunity and you find both at Kohls! We need associates with drive to continue to keep us two steps ahead of our competition.

A very flat Stores Organization. Think about the growth. If Kohls opens 100 stores in 2004 that means we will need to hire an additional 300 Assistant Store Managers, 100 Store Managers, 10 District Managers and 2-4 Regional Managers. If youre looking to accelerate your career look no further than a growth company.Store Managers wear a variety of hats.

For Summer 2003 we will have over 40 interns working at our Corporate Headquarters in Milwaukee, WI.

Our interns are much more than summer help. The Kohls Internship is a true executive experience where you will be working and learning. You will be paired directly with a Buyer or Product Manager and spend time working with and learning several of the roles within the Buying Office or Product Development.

The Internship concludes with the Discovery Project where you will analyze a key business issue and present your findings or recommendations to a group of senior executives - this is your chance to strut your stuff and shine!

Last summer 80% of our interns received offers for full time employment - we give our interns a lot of responsibility and visibility and take our internship program very seriously! We need associates with drive to continue to keep us two steps ahead of our competition.
