Habitat and Range• NATIVE RANGE- Southeastern

Europe and Western Asia• In the U.S.- Found primarily in the

central and western parts of the country, and also in the East (e.g., Virginia to Pennsylvania), in the West it is mostly in the Great Basin Desert region at 800-2000 feet elevation and is also plentiful in certain riparian zones of the Great Plains

• Its habitat is usually around streams, fields and other open areas. It thrives in a lot of different soil and moisture conditions, including bare mineral substrates.
