RST SERIES RODS AND BITS

Strength DefnedBoart Longyear has a long history of providing premium Rock Drill andBlast Drilling products for the most demanding conditions. This traditioncontinues with the introduction of the Robust Standard Thread (RST)Series percussive rods and bits with industry leading strength andpenetration rates. Boart Longyear has responded to industry demands forstronger, more versatile percussive rods and bits by developing the RSTSeries that incorporates a larger cross-sectional transition area as wellas an increased bit skirt length. This delivers improved impact efciencyfor faster penetration rates, increased rod tip-off resistance, and less holedeviation.

Superior Productivity and DesignThe RST Series rods incorporate a larger cross-sectional transitionarea for a nearly 45% increase in bending strength. The bit skirt is alsoextended for improved interface, making rod tip-off events less likely andreducing cost and downtime. The design of the RST Series results instraighter and truer holes with penetration rate increases of up to 20% ascompared to a competitive design offering.

Interchangeability

As an additional benet, the RST Series design allows forinterchangeability with standard rods and bits for improved exibility in theeld, unlike the competitive offerings which utilize unique thread designs.
