from grade 6 for an

outstanding singing performance at assembly.

All students have now begun the Challenge. It is good to see so many of you in the library before the bell changing your books. The library will be open before school every day for students to change their library books and access the computers if they need to, until the end of the Challenge on August 12th. If you need any assistance or further information please see Chris in the library. Parents welcome. Thank you. Chris Quayle VPRC co-ordinator

Dear parents,

As you know our fundraiser this year is a Cadbury chocolate

drive.

We would like to remind you to return your money and/or

unsold chocolates to the school ASAP.

We thank you for your continuous support.

Kind regards,

Roxburgh Park Parents and Friends.

Wow word of the week

Are you the WOW word of the Week Champion?

Every week in the newsletter there will be an interesting or unusual wow word

written with its meaning from the dictionary.

Can you put that word in an amazing sentence? If so, write it on a piece of paper,

include your name and grade and pop it in

the box in the office. If your sentence is the most impressive, then you will

feature on our WOW writer champion board displayed in the foyer of the office.

Winner announced each week at assembly.

Happy writing! Lisa EL

This weeks word below!

LAST WEEK’S Wow WINNER

Someone once dropped a slice of cheese from their sandwich on the

pavement outside and no one dared to pick it up. It just sat there and

it got mouldy and grimy. To this day it is still one the pavement.

Every class should have pet.

I believe the class shouldn’t have a class pet.

My first reason is if someone is allergic to the pet it will be bad. They will have to go to the

hospital and maybe even die!

Next is at recess or lunch, the pet will run out of the classroom. The kids will follow it onto

the road and the will get run over by the cars!

On the other hand who is going to feed the pet on the holidays? There will be no teachers

at school!

As you can tell this is my opinion why we shouldn’t have a class pet!

Would you want your toy to talk?

I strongly believe that a talking toy would be a great idea.

Firstly, if your brother or sister are in high school and they don’t want to play with you, you

can just play with your amazing talking toy. This is an amazing idea because at least you are

doing something useful.

Another reason is if you don’t have a brother or sister you can draw with your talking toy or

it can help your mum clean the house and do the dishes. This is a marvellous idea because

you are helping your mum and not asking her “What shall I do?”

Finally, if your mum and dad are always busy and they go to work your talking toy can take

care of you. This is a great idea because if no one takes care of you someone can knock on

your door and kidnap you.

These are the reasons why having a talking toy is a fabulous idea!
